Professional homeowner (25+ years of experience) and DIY specialist with experience to fix almost everything inside/outside/around the house. Have a good portfolio in my household, having hockey players and dogs, especially with fixing, painting walls, replacing faucets, installing water softeners, wall decoration with stone/artificial stone. Just want to be useful and helpful for people during my days off.

Small jobs welcome

Hello! I am a carpenter/timber framer. My bread and butter is building decks, porches and small timber frames. I also enjoy cabinetry and trim carpentry. I can help you with most anything carpentry-related. \nI also have a small campervan conversion business so I can help with campers as well.

"I cannot say enough good things about Nathan! I called him to fix a broken door casing and ended up hiring him to lay new flooring throughout my first floor, fix a cabinet in my kitchen and fix the door casing (among other small jobs.) Wow! Not only did he do a great job, he went above and beyond with scheduling, picking up materials, and adding small things here and there. His customer service was top notch!! I will continue to call him for jobs big and small. Well done!"

"The qualities I really appreciated about Margaux which had me hire her multiple times are: communicative, willing to shift ideas in the middle of a project, able to hear me, works like a dog, arrives in time and works full days, and her mood never changes regardless of how hard she worked or how hot the weather is."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Whether a scullery is worth it depends on how much you like to cook and entertain. If you frequently host gatherings—a scullery is likely worth the money. If you’re looking for ROI, it’s not so clear. It may not add significant value to your home, as it doesn’t increase square footage and may repurpose space that a buyer would have preferred to remain as-is (like a laundry room).

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

A big resounding yes, hiring a contractor is 100% worth it. They bring expertise, manage permits, coordinate professions in different trades, and help avoid costly mistakes. A pro can keep your project on budget and schedule while ensuring quality work that adds value to your home.

Rates vary by task complexity and time, often providing cost-effective solutions for homeowners.
