Customers say: True professional

"We were looking for a reasonable quote and quality work for our home tile projects as two working parents of 2 elementary kids, and were very happy with the tIle work Jon completed. He tiled our kitchen, laundry room, 2 bathrooms and also our shower. It looks so clean AND cleanable! I am very happy with the job he did. The tiles look so orderly and well-placed. Additionally- he was great to work with. He stuck to his schedule and made continuous progress- so the dependability was wonderful for our family. He came up with great solutions to challenges and his work ethic and craft was admirable. I would highly recommend Jon."

"January 2024 RJH construction painted our kitchen cabinets and repainted our pantry door. They were very thorough and professional. They cleaned up the area really well each day and at the end of the project. We are really pleased with the results. We also hired RJ in 2019 to refinish our outside columns. The columns turned out amazing."

Offers commercial services

I have 7 years of tile experience, I can work anywhere in the treasure valley. I know how to do backsplashes, showers, fireplaces, floors. I know how to do residential and commercial. I currently work for Mesa Tile & Stone Company. I think I’m a good fit for the job because I like to do my job right and make sure that the customer is satisfied with the tile.

Honest and skilled. 7 years experience in tile and flooring. I'm an Ironworker. Worked on large commercial projects(high rises, bridges, midrise). I come with variety of certificates (welding,first-aid,signalling,rigging). Lots of classroom hours and training that cross relates into pretty much anything.I currently had to step away from ironwork due to large changes in my personal life. Im capable and willing to do any job big or small.

"I went into the showroom many times and got a lot of help from the designers there. They really took a lot of time with me looking at options and giving advice. They also seem to have adequate staff, and the store is busy, so it's nice to be able to get help. We ordered an expensive tile and when we got it laid out realized some of the order would not work in the pattern we had hoped. The manager helped us find a solution and was really great to work with. Plus their tile is gorgeous! I love walking through the showroom. I would definitely go there again next time we do a project."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Porcelain is a relatively affordable, mid-range countertop material. It typically costs between $50 to $70 per square foot.

Compared to quartz, porcelain is slightly more affordable, as quartz generally ranges from $50 to $200 per square foot. However, lower-quality, builder's grade quartz can be similar in price to porcelain.

Compared to granite, the price can be similar, depending on the quality of the stone. While granite slabs can range from $50 to $200 per square foot, you can find lower-end granite in the same price range as porcelain. High-end granites will cost significantly more.

Porcelain is generally more expensive than laminate, acrylic, and ceramic, but less expensive than high-end slate, concrete, and marble. A key benefit is that porcelain does not require sealing, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.

If you hire a professional to install a new floor, you can expect to pay between $50 and $75 per hour for labor. It takes two days on average to install a new floor as part of a bathroom remodeling project, but your timeline depends on your bathroom’s size and layout.

Regrouting is cheaper than retiling, and it involves less work. Grout is available in a wide range of colors, making it a cost-effective way to improve the look of any tiled area in your home.

A quality shower tiling project is a bathroom upgrade that can increase resale value. Bathroom remodels have the highest return on investments for any home update. Tiling a shower won’t offer the potential 70% ROI that a full bathroom remodel involving upgrading fixtures, installing storage, and a complete room retile will. However, you can expect an average return of 55% to 60% for this refresh.
