"Jared P. did an amazing job for our family. He took out an old window, rotten wood, and sheetrock. He meticously informed us of each and every step he was taking. When he got into the job, he discovered there was more damage than originally thought. Instead of overcharging, he kept us in the loop and gave us option. We give our highest recommendation and will hire Jared P. for a future construction project that we have planned. The Andersons"

Small jobs welcome

"I called mister electric(Gus) and I needed electrical work to put in a system for backup power in case of a power outage. Reset up a time for the next day for him to come out and take a look at my problem. He was promptly here on time. A matter of fact he was early. He evaluated my problem and gave me an estimated price and he said he could come out the next day and do the work . You came up the next day on time as usual. He came out and did the job very professionally. And answered any questions that I had. The price was exactly what he told me and even did a few extra things for free . Very knowledgeable company, and didn't try to sell me something that I didn't want the job was great."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Ashton, it’s wise to anticipate costs beyond labor and materials. Permit fees are required for most upgrades, and older homes here often need panel or wiring updates to meet modern electrical codes. Rural delivery can mean longer wait times for specialty parts. Harsh winters may delay work, and local soil conditions sometimes require enhanced grounding, which can add time and complexity to your project.

Helpful?

In Ashton, you can safely tackle minor electrical tasks like swapping out light bulbs, replacing faceplates, or resetting GFCI outlets—just always turn off the breaker and use a voltage tester first. If you notice flickering lights during winter storms or outlets that feel warm, it’s best to call a local electrical contractor. Ashton’s older homes and cold climate can make even small issues riskier if not addressed promptly.

Helpful?

When reviewing quotes in Ashton, be cautious of contractors who offer vague estimates, push for quick decisions, or lack a local business address. Reliable electrical professionals will provide detailed written quotes, outline the scope of work, and include timelines that account for Ashton’s seasonal weather. Make sure your contractor is familiar with local permitting and inspection processes to avoid project delays or compliance issues.

Helpful?

Upgrading your home’s electrical system in Ashton can enhance both value and buyer interest, especially since many local homes have aging wiring. Modern features like updated panels, GFCI outlets, and surge protection are attractive to buyers and may help your home stand out in the market. Improved electrical safety can also make your property more appealing to insurance providers, potentially leading to added benefits when selling.

Helpful?

After your electrical project in Ashton is complete, schedule a final inspection to ensure all work meets local codes and close out any required permits. Keep all documentation for future reference or insurance updates. Regularly test GFCI outlets, especially in kitchens and bathrooms, and inspect outdoor outlets for weatherproofing after harsh winters. If you’ve installed backup power, follow maintenance schedules to keep your system reliable year-round.
