"Shane Hughes came out to give me a bid on my driveway that was sinking and cracking. He was very thorough in his explanation of the company and what work would be done to fix my driveway. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. The driveway now looks perfect! There was a minor billing issue, but after calling Shane and explaining it to him, the problem was fixed within minutes. I would highly recommend this company. A+ all the way!"

"Tom the sales rep worked his magic to get me everything we needed to convert our tub to a shower. Our installer Jimmy did a top notch job. It did take an extra 1/2 day as he was working by himself. We are so happy we chose Bath Planet for this conversion. From sales rep, phone calls , & Jimmy's fine work I would recommend them to anyone1"

"The gentleman that came out was initially friendly. He gave a presentation that lasted about an hour about the company which took a little in the long side, but wasn't a big deal. After taking measurements and going over options, he provided an estimate. I thought the price was rather high, but I do believe they have a quality product. The part that went bad was when I told him I was going to get other estimates. His attitude instantly changed and he almost became a little hostile. He basically told me that the price would go up if I didn't sign a contract right then and there and that if I went with anyone else for a cheaper price, I would be getting a subpar product. I am always suspect of companies that threaten to raise their estimate of you don't sign right then and there. I ended up going with another contractor for nearly half the cost and couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm sure ReBath does excellent work, but it's always smart to shop around, and be suspect of companies that discourage you from doing so. There's usually a reason they feel they need to pressure you to go with them!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.

The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

Both plumbing inspection cost and length can vary widely based on the specifics of a property. For a larger home, historic home, or rental complex, a full plumbing inspection can take a full day. Put aside at least eight hours from the start of the visit to ensure that you'll be available to answer any of the plumber's questions. However, a thorough inspection of the average one-story to two-story home lasts just two to three hours.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Yes, a bigger well pump can increase water pressure—up to a point. If you currently have a well pump of 8 GPM, you might notice a pressure boost when you go up to 10 GPM. However, overshooting significantly (going up to 15 GPM for an 8 GPM home) can strain your well system and result in things like burst pipes that can decrease your water pressure and make for costly repairs.

Yes, you can clean a toilet tank with white vinegar. Before you do, shut off the water supply to the toilet. Then, flush it to empty the tank. Next, combine one part vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture inside the tank. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse away the vinegar by pouring clean water into the tank. Make sure the tank is empty, then dip a scrub brush in vinegar and clean the tank’s inside walls. Turn the water back on and flush again to rinse away the vinegar.
