"Updated bathroom electrical during remodeling. They came the day after I called them for an estimate for 1 hour of work and completed it immediately. Also gave me an estimate for a household generator. I would hire them again."

"Jesse came with a great personal recommendation plus excellent reviews - and I can see why. Showed up exactly on time, terrific to work with, explained everything and answered all our questions, and the work was performed timely and in a very professional cost-effective manner. Couldn't be more pleased. Down The Road Electric will be our go-to electricians going forward and highly recommended to our friends and neighbors."

"I hired him through Angie's list. Was hesitant to use this service, but happy I did! Was easy to schedule an appointment with, called me back and we set up a time and day. Gave me both a show up fee and hourly rate over the phone. Very up front about hourly rate and let me know giving an estimate over the phone cant be done without looking at the project first. He still gave me a round about figure over the phone after listening to me. Had 2 light fixtures installed into an existing switch( I provided the fixtures, he supplied other materials such as romex ) Wiring in the attic was all in conduit he had to cut into to install a junction box. Job was done quickly and I was shocked how low the bill was when the job was completed. Very impressed with how everything turned out. Based on having hired other electrical contractors to do work on our condo association property in the past. I would not hesitate to hire him again for my home or association property based on cost and honesty. I would also not hesitate to use Angie's list. Just really a great experience all around!"

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Marion, address urgent issues like flickering lights, burning odors, or damaged panels right away, as these can signal serious safety risks before storm season. Schedule non-urgent upgrades, such as adding outlets or installing LED lighting, during milder months. Prioritize repairs that affect safety or system reliability, especially with Marion’s frequent weather changes, to keep your home protected and efficient.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Marion, select weather-resistant copper wiring, especially THWN-2 for durability in local humidity and freeze-thaw cycles. Use weatherproof electrical boxes outdoors, and opt for GFCI outlets rated for temperature swings. PVC or EMT conduit helps protect home wiring from moisture. Always choose supplies that meet local code and are suited to Marion’s climate for lasting, safe results.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Marion offers immediate benefits like safer home wiring, improved storm readiness, and enhanced energy efficiency—especially important in older homes. Over time, you’ll gain increased property appeal, support for new technologies like electric vehicle charging, and more reliable HVAC operation during Marion’s temperature swings. These upgrades help your home stay comfortable and resilient through changing seasons.

Helpful?

Marion homeowners are increasingly adding smart thermostats, whole-house surge protection, and LED lighting to boost efficiency and convenience. Pre-wiring for electric vehicle charging and installing backup generators are also trending due to local storms. Outdoor upgrades like landscape lighting and pool electrical systems are popular, reflecting Marion’s focus on both modern home wiring and preparedness for unpredictable weather.

Helpful?

In Marion, start spring by checking outdoor outlets and breaker panels for winter wear, and inspect air conditioning wiring before summer storms. In fall, review furnace circuits and test smoke detectors. During winter, monitor for panel condensation and avoid overloading circuits with heaters or holiday lights. This routine helps address Marion’s weather shifts and keeps your electrical system reliable year-round.
