Customers say: True professional

"I used Scott's Home Renewal for a first floor renovation about three years ago, was pleased and hired them again for this. Not the cheapest contractor, but definitely the best I have used here. First class professionals; first rate subs, especially the tile and glass people The custom glass door arrived with the wrong specs, and the glass contractor got the factory to make a new one with only one day of waiting.. If you want it done right, contact Scott's."

"I contacted Jonathon at J Ford Construction for a bid on some work. It wasn't a small job. There was a lot of different project. He put together his bid and we discussed everything. I found his quote to be absolutely reasonable and fair for the project. I needed windows, siding, and some concrete work done. He took care of all that seamlessly. Once all the materials started coming in. He gave me his timeline on the scope of the work, and he completed it all right on schedule. I will say his attention to detail, is very impressive. I carry the same attention to detail when doing things. He did not miss one thing, and I did not have to ask him to do anything. It was all completed. He even went above and beyond on things that weren't part of his original quote on surprises that always pop up. I would recommend Jonathon at J Ford Construction to everyone. He will be back for more projects."

"They did a good job. They were timely. I did not like that Neil kept giving me a hard time about an add on that I did not want. I already had all the materials and he was upset that they were not able to mark them up. I really liked that they offered to come right away to do the project after I had two other companies bail."

"Todd was very efficient in dismantling the hood, cutting a hole through the wall to the outside, laying the piping, sealing, and testing the new setup. What impressed me was the fact that he didn’t try to sell me a new hood. He also was very conscious of any messes he may make, laying down drop clothes, etc. and disposing of his garbage in appropriate receptacles. I was very happy with the time it took him to do the job. Super quick, yet high quality work. From what I have experienced thus far (I have him booked for a couple other projects), Todd is a stand-up trustworthy guy who knows what he’s doing. He is super busy so it may take him a while to respond to inquiries, but he’s definitely worth the wait. I would highly recommend him to family & friends."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

Dark academia is more of an interior decorating style than it is a type of architecture, but it calls on themes prevalent in gothic architecture. Part of the appeal of dark academia is that you can achieve the look and feel without renovating or remodeling your home. Instead, you can switch to a dark color palette and introduce metal, natural wood furniture, plaid decor, old books, and gothic decor to get the look and feel just right.

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

The country's most famous Neoclassical architecture appears in major government buildings and college campuses. The White House is unmistakably the most famous example, though the Capitol Building and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello are also iconic uses of the design.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.
