"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Our home was damaged in the derecho; roof, soffit, fascia, and some other items. Our insurance initially didn't approve replacing almost anything. We were having difficulty getting contractors to work with us because insurance hadn't approved larger repairs. that was until Window Depot came and assessed our roof and other damage. They worked with our insurance to get a lot more approved and gave us reasonable quotes for fixing all of it together. we thought it would take a while to get the work completed as we only finalized in March. The roof was fully replaced and all the soffit/fascia were installed already in April. Everything looks better than it did before and would definitely use them again for roofing, siding, or windows in the future"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Not always. The answer depends on your specific vinyl siding product. While some manufacturers advise against pressure washing, others recommend pressure washing as long as pressure is kept below a certain threshold.

Wood siding requires an air gap behind it to allow water to drain out, and for air circulation and venting to allow humid air to escape and keep the material from rotting due to moisture.

Mildew grows into porous wood, making it more difficult to remove than regular dirt (and more destructive). We suggest using a dedicated mildew and mold fungicide to remove mildew, which is found in any local home improvement store. Apply a dose of the fungicide to the siding and leave to work according to the instructions, usually for an hour or two. Then wash it thoroughly away and scrub the spot again. Repeat the process if necessary. If nothing is removing the mildew stains, you should plan on removing those clapboard planks in time, as their damage could cause future problems.

Yes, you can mount shutters to vinyl siding. Depending on the weight and material of choice, you may need more fasteners or larger fasteners to secure the shutters onto the vinyl surface. It’s also important to locate studs or drill into the window frame when installing heavier shutters to best hold the weight of the shutters if you opt for composite or wood shutters.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.
