"Heads up, although they disclose it on the initial phone call, there is a $72 trip charge/diagnostic fee that is non-refundable unless you have them do the work. Also, they base their fees on and quot;flat rateand quot; pricing....no matter how easy or complicated the job is.

1. Fix plumbing leak in outdoor shed. Estimate was pricey, but the technician got into more than he planned for. At the end of the day however, the technician did fast, clean, courteous work. But I did pay dearly for it.

2. Install exterior water spigot. Once on site, tech advised that it would be $350 or so to install. I about choked considering the job entailed drilling a hole in the exterior wall, punching out 2 predrilled know outs in floor joists, and tapping into pre-existing pex line three feet later. Considering the fact that I was already on the hook for $72 regardless, I told the technician to go forward. Again though, the technician conducted fast, clean, courteous, and quality work.

Later that day or early the next, I received a follow up comstomer service phone call asking about my eexperience. After some discussion, Golden rule refunded part of my money and made it right. If they wouldn't have made it right, my overall grade would have changed to a C and my pricing would have changed to an F. Happy to give them a B.

Bottom Line. These guys are very fast, very responsive, very clean, very accurate, and provide quality work. However, you will pay dearly for it.

"Todd was very efficient in dismantling the hood, cutting a hole through the wall to the outside, laying the piping, sealing, and testing the new setup. What impressed me was the fact that he didn’t try to sell me a new hood. He also was very conscious of any messes he may make, laying down drop clothes, etc. and disposing of his garbage in appropriate receptacles. I was very happy with the time it took him to do the job. Super quick, yet high quality work. From what I have experienced thus far (I have him booked for a couple other projects), Todd is a stand-up trustworthy guy who knows what he’s doing. He is super busy so it may take him a while to respond to inquiries, but he’s definitely worth the wait. I would highly recommend him to family & friends."

"After a few misunderstandings from the company who provided the cabinets. They were able to complete the cabinet installation. The price was reasonable compared to other companies. I’m very happy with the quality of installation."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, predator decoys work to keep birds away, at least temporarily. However, if the decoy remains motionless in the same spot for a long enough time, the birds will eventually wise up and realize it's a fake. Keep changing the location of the predator decoy to ensure that the birds keep their guard up and maintain their distance.

Like many other rodents, squirrels can be a little difficult to get rid of (especially in the case of an infestation), but the best approach is to make the place as unattractive to squirrels as possible. If you do have an infestation inside your home, then professional help may be necessary so you can lay as many traps as possible.

Scent deterrents like ammonia, vinegar, mothballs, and pepper can help keep coyotes away, but these are best used in tandem with other preventative measures. Remember that ammonia and vinegar can kill your plants and/or grass, so it’s best to soak rags in these substances or spray them on hardscaped areas to avoid damaging your landscape.

If the snakes in your yard are non-venomous species (like common Rat or Garter snakes), why not consider the live-and-let-live approach? Some benefits of not getting rid of snakes include:

  • They’re great at controlling disease-spreading rodent populations, including rats, mice, voles, and moles.

  • Some non-venomous species (like the common kingsnake) eat venomous species like rattlesnakes and copperheads.

  • Species like the garter snake keep down populations of garden pests like slugs and grasshoppers.

Chirping noises, droppings, scratches on the walls, and stains at entries and exits are all signs that you have bats in your house or, more specifically, your attic. Because bats are nocturnal, there’s a chance that bats have already infested your home before you start to see warning signs, so don’t delay if you notice anything. If you see a bat or two at sunrise or sunset near your property, that’s another telltale sign that they could be setting up shop inside your space.
