"My husband hired Stanley to stain our home. Were I think he did a awesome job. I found him very respectful and professional. He offered to customize our shutters, Because I didn't like the old ones. He also replace my old lights for me, And stain my porch furniture to keep the theme of our home. Stanley by far. Did a great job, And I would recommend help to anyone."

"The Painting Pros is an A + company. We hired The Painting Pros after receiving quotes from several other highly rated companies both on Angi’s and other review sites. We are very happy we did and definitely would hire them again The owner, Ron, was professional and knew exactly what was needed to get the job done right. His quote was detailed, honest and ultimately fair. The work started as scheduled, updates were timely and any questions we had were always answered quickly by him. The two men who were assigned to do the painting, David (Foreman) and Marvin, were professional, proficient and polite. They arrived everyday on time and as scheduled, worked non-stop well into the evening hours and their painting skills were top notch. The carpentry work done by David was beyond impressive. While the quote from The Painting Pros was not the lowest we received (it was actually the highest) it was accurate, detailed and fair. We definitely received what we paid for…perhaps a bit more. When it comes to painting Ron, David and Marvin proved to truly be “pros” in every sense of the word."

"Doug did a great job. Put together two, all-wood dressers in a couple of hours that would have taken me probably two days to complete. The price was fair and extremely happy with the outcome."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

Deck staining or painting safeguards wood against the elements through its protective layer, enhancing decay resistance, prolonging structural integrity, and improving visual appeal.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

Essential tools include brushes or rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper or power sanders, and appropriate cleaning supplies. Quality materials ensure long-lasting results.
