"Stanley’s Painting was not only affordable, but incredibly professional and delivered outstanding results. His crew was hardworking, respectful, and efficient, consistently going above and beyond. From day one, they impressed us—taking the initiative to clean the back porch and even the kids’ playground without being asked. Their attention to detail and work ethic truly stood out. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and will absolutely use them again. Highly recommend!"

"Great job! We bought a 14 year old house and I don't think the concrete was ever pressure washed and had stains I wasn't sure would ever come out, but Patrick worked and worked until every one of them was out. I didn't know it could look that clean! The window cleaning went off without a hitch, but we only did outside because we have a cleaning service that also does windows. Afterwards, when a window or two didn't look clean, guess what? Yep, it was dirty on the inside. Well done gentlemen, well done!"

"Jesse, Hunter, and Michael were absolutely amazing to work with. After a previous contractor hacked my new deck rebuilds, they came to save the day. Jesse was super helpful and understanding, especially in my chaotic and time sensitive state. They were prompt with work and responses. Hunter and Michael were amazing and knowledgeable workers. I will definitely be hiring again! Superheros!!!"

"This professional did a wonderful job. I wanted my deck thoroughly repaired and provided specific instructions, and everything was followed to the letter. He arrived on time, worked extremely hard, and paid attention to every detail. In fact, He worked harder than I have ever seen anyone work in my home. She stayed until everything that needed attention was taken care of. I truly appreciate the effort and professionalism. The work was excellent, and my house looks great. I highly recommend her services."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

You should refinish your deck to maintain its appearance, durability, and longevity. Refinishing your deck protects the wood from foot traffic and the elements. It also helps extend its life span by keeping rot, mildew, and termites at bay. By maintaining your deck, you can avoid the cost of replacing your deck sooner. A refinished deck also looks great and restores some of its original beauty.

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.
