"We moved to St. Simons Island in late December 2015 and were looking for a good all purpose handyman to help us with some projects on our new home. I found The Whole House Doctor ? Bob Casebier on Angie's List.  I was a bit skeptical at first as I had read some of the older Angie?s List reviews in which former customers had been less than satisfied, but was impressed by the fact that ?Dr. Bob? (as I later began to affectionately call him) had a reasonable and persuasive reply to each concern expressed on Angie?s List.  
My list of demands for Dr. Bob began with labor intensive items that I knew I was not capable of performing, to include the removal and exchange of new sinks and propane stoves (which replaced the house?s old, worn-out electric stove) to the complete re-tiling of our master bathroom shower, which needed to be re-done because of leakage and grout issues.  Later, as I began to know and trust Dr. Bob and his workers, they began to expand based upon the vision I had for the home and the fact I knew I was dealing with someone who could not only do the work much better than I could, but who could also complete it in a cost effective and efficient manner. At each step in these various repairs and upgrades, I was not only impressed by Dr. Bob?s strong work ethic, organizational abilities, and repair skills, but also by his vision and originality of thinking in recommending courses of action that I had not even considered.  For example, after a lifetime of living in a house without a garage or workspace, my husband demanded he be allowed to have a store bought work table.  Understanding the desire for a work space, Dr. Bob simply assembled one out of items he already had readily available and did it in a manner that cost less and provided more workable space than the store bought work table my husband purchased (and which I later returned!)   Invariably, the recommendations Dr. Bob made and the manner in which he made the modifications and repairs improved upon what I had originally envisioned and cost significantly less than the manner I had originally proposed.On another occasion, Dr. Bob noted an old play set in the backyard that had not been well maintained and which we were considering chopping up with a chainsaw and throwing away.  Dr. Bob saw the potential for the set and described for me what he would do with it.  Collaborating together, we developed a plan that not only improved the safety features of the playset, but added additional items to it and the rest of the backyard (such as a widened slide, monkey bars, pull-up bars, peg board, and improved swings) that has made it the envy of our neighborhood.  As one of my children recently told me, ?Our whole backyard is a playground!?  A person with less vision would simply have listened to what the customer wanted and gone the easiest route.  Dr. Bob listened to my concerns, understood the underlying concept, and provided an imaginative solution that ended up being multiple times better than what I had originally proposed.Dr. Bob is a thoroughly caring and conscientious builder.  He knows his reputation is at stake in every job he performs or for which he is in charge.  This sense of pride and orientation to detail is best exemplified by a situation I found myself in one morning when I noticed a leak in one of the pipes that was unrelated to the work he had been performing.  Dr. Bob listened to my concerns, then came out to the house that morning, discovered the source of the leak (which had been caused by HVAC workers not associated with his company) and fixed the leak immediately.  Had he not done so, the flooring of our house would have suffered several thousand dollars in damages and the new carpeting we had just spent a considerable amount of money to have laid would have been destroyed.Dr. Bob is an excellent communicator and is easily capable of sketching out ideas and explaining them so that I am able to quickly and easily understand what he is planning to do.  He is a very safety conscious contractor who always keeps the welfare of my children at the forefront of any project he?s building for them.  He is both professional and thorough, showing a great sense of dependability and mastery of multiple different home contracting disciplines, from carpentry, to plumbing, to electrical issues.
I plan to utilize The Whole House Doctor/Dr. Bob in the future to install a patio and an outdoor fire pit, as well as construct storage benches in our playroom.  Based upon his past performance, I have no doubt that the finished products will be as impressive and well-constructed as all of the projects that have preceded it.In short, I can say without hesitation that he is a one-stop handyman who is capable of creating and doing anything a client can think of.  I unequivocally recommend Bob Casebier/The Whole House Doctor for any and all of your handyman and household contracting needs in the St. Simons Island and Brunswick area.
