We scheduled way in advance and on the day the painting was to start one painter showed up. His approach seemed haphazard. Day 2 came, no team, just one painter. On this day he did a combination of prepping and painting. Day 3-still one painter, a bunch of paint in the pool, on the patio furniture that he didn't drape, really just everywhere. I was not able to check on his work during the day, so I didn't see the huge mess until he was gone. On day 4 much the same but he draped the furniture which I pointed out needed done. His approach was still haphazard. Large parts of the trim were not adequately painted. Large sections of the house-some in front and some in the back still were not painted at all. I could see he was trying but overwhelmed. I tried to reach Bob Koepke, who supposedly was in charge of project. When he got back to me after about 4 hours I told him my specific very real concerns. I suggested he come see for himself what condition our (2400 sq. foot-average size) house was in after 4 days. His response was that he had never had any complaints about (this painter) before. I guess that suggests I was mistaken. I definitely was NOT and if he had been involved enough with his job, he would have come to verify it himself. When I asked why a team had not been sent as on previous Benchmark paint jobs we had contracted-he said "all the teams are on other jobs. Jessica scheduled it that way." We scheduled our project way in advance and neither Jessica or Bob said they were giving us reduced service or gave scheduling choices, or extended time expectations for completing the job. Bob not only did NOT come out to see what was happening, worse yet he never followed up to see if things were resolved. Neither did Jessica. Bottom line, I gave the painter a lot of direction myself and told him he better have help and finish the next day. On day 5 a second painter did come and they pretty much finished. After they closed everything up and packed up all their supplies, the initial painter knocked on the door and said. " I'm done, do you want to take a look and make sure it's ok" . Really, after you packed up?This company is a great disappointment. We did have them come back eventually to clean up some of the spills and do things they missed the first 5 days. After all we did pay for it. Will never use them again.
I would like to respond to company's response on my poor rating please: I purposely left out the painters name because Benchmark the company that we contracted for this service was responsible for our dissatisfaction as described in my review. Disappointing they threw the painter singularly under the bus. I don't know what changed within the company since we started using them for a variety of services about 3 years ago, but they clearly have changed and lost our confidence. THIS WAS THE FIRST INDICATOR OF TROUBLE. I agreed to pay a whopping $275.00 (yes, near $300.00) to clean roughly 1600 Square Feet. The ownder showed me a list of everything that would be covered in this deep clean. It was a rediculously high amount, but I agreed to pay because she employed local house keepers who were solid professionals. I was told the deep cleanings would be an all-day affair, and the weekly cleanings would be significantly quicker. I was quoted $85/week to clean 1600 Square Feet. I received a notification that two house keepers would be cleaning my house on October 9th, 2014, and they would be there around 12:30-1:30 and would be leaving around 5PM (the time I come home). I got home early from work at 2:30PM and was greated by two very nice and friendly house keepers. They left at approximately 3:30pm or 3:45pm. I do no know what time they arrived, I only know I was told they would come at around 12:30-1:30pm. The house smelled great. I told them I would sit on the couch and watch TV while they finished to avoid getting in their way. At 3:45PM, the house keeper notified me they were done with their cleaning. I was asked by one of the house keepers If I wanted to double check their work...I declined (BIG MISTAKE I AM PAYING FOR NOW). By the way the owner described the work, I didnt see a need. After they left the house, I did a small check-up on things I told the owner were important to us (blinds, window sills, dusting). All of these things were no cleaned at all. I will list some problems that I can remember off the top of my head... PROBLEM AREAS - spider webs on the chandalier above the dining room table - loads of dust on most furniture tops and bed siding - some baseboards werent touched - they mopped and swept around shoes and bags on the ground instead of moving items - picture tops were not dusted - the rug in the living room was not moved, only mopped and swept around. When I picked it up, there was a huge rectangle of dirt on the ground that matched the shape of the rug - blinds not cleaned - window sills not cleaned - air vents not cleaned - the list goes on and on and on... I thought, "If they call this a deep cleaning, what the heck are they going to do on normal cleanings?" I called the owner that night to let her know how disappointed we were that we paid almost $300.00 for a deep cleaning that would take "all day", and in reality, it took anywhere from 2-3 and a half hours (depending on if they showed up at 12:30pm or 1:30pm). At the time, the owner could not tell me when the house keepers arrived to my house. She assured me she could make it right by sending them back out there to fix things that were wrong. I told her it would just be awkward to have those same workers in the home making them fix all of their mistakes, and declined. I again declined to have different people come, as I already saw the quality of work that is done by this company. She charged me the full $275.00 the next day. BUYER BEWARE!!! Please, read this review before purchasing any services from this over-priced, under-fulfilled company. "My front door and the framework around it was replaced approximately July of this year. The inside of the door did not meet with the existing tile work. The blinds that were around the new door that were professionally installed back in 2008 were not refund properly. The lockset for the new door was not like my original lockset(had to use key to open top part of lock) the door swing was not like how my original door swing was(from left to right). The crew left lots of debris outside the door's porch area. I shared my concerns with the manager (and pictures as proof) virtually a day or so after the work. Payment was made and crew members returned to make corrections to the stated problem and to clear debris from front and back gutters (Oct.4) I was charged for "modifications" made on the door the new lockset and was billed for properly fixing the blinds-but they were never touched. Additionally, I was texted a "reminder" invoice while the crew members were still at my house."
