We specialize in residences and commercial buildings of all sizes, particularly frame structures and in all occupancy classifications. We do renovations and adaptive reuses of older buildings. Started in 1969 as in-house designers for an Atlanta homebuilder, the company was acquired in 1987 by project manager Phillip Andrew Jessup, who expanded the company in 1988 to include architectural services. From 1998 through 2000, we re-organized and expanded our focus to include renovation, remodeling, & interior design. From 2001 through 2003, we added Internet marketing of our extensive collection of home plans. Recent projects include a 5,000 sq. ft new estate home in a "sacred grove" planted by early settlers, several new 1500 - 2200 sq. ft. bungalows and narrow-lot urban homes, an award-winning expansion & renovation of a century-old bungalow, a kitchen re-design, basement finishing and bonus room expansions, a 13,000 sq. ft computer operations center for a financial institution, a traditional Tacqueria restaurant, a Bank branch, a Convenience Store in a quonset hut, and a school & classroom expansion to a church. Clients return to us for confidence in our sound & innovative designs that meet code, get permits, and are buildable. We hope you will, too.

Small jobs welcome

I believe that good design is not just for the privileged class in America. For the last fifteen years, it has been my goal to deliver quality design services at an affordable price to "the average American family."\n\nWith offices in Atlanta and Manchester, I introduced the concept of portability in architectural design by bringing architecture to the kitchen table in your home. I became known as the "affordable-portable architect".\n\nWe specialize in residential architecture and small commercial project design. \n\nTo prevent costly and unnecessary misunderstandings, we provides our clients with full 3D services at affordable prices. We differ from most architects by engaging our clients in the actual design process. Our interactive design approach versus the standard reactive design approach gives our customer a greater sense of satisfaction and understanding of their project.\n\nWith our state-of-the-art object-oriented design software, 24 hour turnaround is available on some small projects.\n\nEach project varies in level of complexity and difficulty. We base our fees on those two criteria only. We will match any reasonable fee.\n\nContrary to conventional wisdom, the architect's fee represents a very small fraction of the total cost of your housing cost.\n\nThere is also substantial evidence that shows that a good set of architectural plans improves the overall quality of the project and usually results in a lower bid from the contractor. The contractor usually adds cost to the project to cover the unknown.\n\nWithout a set of drawings, "everything is an unknown".\n\nIf you own land and can not afford the upfront cost of an architect, call us and we may consider being your partner with a project equity position.

Architects questions, answered by experts

A structural engineer's report provides a professional assessment of a property's structural condition. It typically includes an evaluation of the foundation, key structural elements like roof trusses, floor joists, studs, beams, and rafters. The report will also contain a detailed description of the engineer's findings, often supported by photographs, and provide recommendations to correct any identified issues. Depending on the scope of the inspection, it might also include an assessment of property drainage, potential issues from environmental conditions like extreme weather or tree placement, and an estimated time and cost for any recommended repairs.

In the United States, architects must be licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia before being allowed to practice or seek business. Licensing requirements vary state-to-state, but overall the architect must be educated, attain a certain level of experience, submit to and pass an examination, and register as an architect. Find out if your architect is licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing search tool

Greek Revival and Federal architecture are quite similar in that they focus on symmetry and a blend of utilitarianism and opulence, but they differ in a few key areas. First, Federal architecture tends to include a brick facade, whereas Greek Revival homes more often have stucco siding, much like you’d find in Mediterranean houses. Greek Revival homes also tend to be a bit more ornate, with columns as decor, and more decorative and formal porticos.

Utilize CAD software for precision, modern design visualization, and alterations.

Villa exterior features often include large windows, arched doorways, patios, terraces, greenery, and gardens. Common exterior colors for villas are whites and off-whites, soft browns, and clay tones.
