Family owned business with over 24 years of experience handling all your Handyman jobs around the home and business. Back Yard renovations- outdoor living with kitchens, patio, pergolas, and decks. Kitchen and bathroom renovations on a budget.

"Service provider stated that she will charge $800 for her labor and be able to complete the work agreed to from 3/14/24 to 3/15/24 but was unable to complete the job. The job included soundproofing the open basement ceiling areas, finishing/ enclosing the ceiling with drywall and molding and installing panel doors in laundry area in basement as well as put plywood/ drywall to enclose open space next to the basement laundry area. She worked on the ceiling part on 3/14, 3/15 and 3/18 instead. She send a message at 9:32pm on 3/18 saying “I can’t do any more”. She then got upset when we questioned the botched workmanship in the ceiling which was incomplete and left in a haste without discussing anything else with us. She did not say anything about paying her, fixing the damaged HVAC hose, cleaning the areas she worked in or if she will come back to complete the job verbally. Instead she threatened to put a lien on our home. She damaged part of the HVAC airflow as well as totally left the floors full of debris. As well as left the adjourning bedroom unclean and full of left over building supplies. The job was not completed and it looks totally botched. We would like to have the HVAC hose that she damaged repaired or replaced as it may be disrupting airflow and in turn possible raise our heat bill in the meantime. We would like to be partially charged or not charged at all for this job as it has not only totally inconvenienced us, it was botched and also incomplete. This job will need to be totally redone and I paid for building supplies which was in access to $1000 which I would like to be reimbursed for. We would also like to have the area that is now filthy and scattered with debris and the building supplies used cleaned."

Drying alone can take 1 to 4 hours to dry to the touch per plaster layer, but some types of plaster take several hours longer to dry. It is possible to repair plaster walls yourself, but it’s not always a good idea. Hiring a professional means you’ll have expert eyes on the damage looking to see if there is an underlying issue or if the cracks are just from normal expansion and contraction. If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

If you already have plaster walls and ceilings, adding new plaster costs $2 to $10 per square foot. For an average-sized room, that would come out to $1,200 to $10,000. However, the cost to replace plaster with drywall is higher—running between $720 and $1,250 for a 10-by-8-foot wall or ceiling (not including drywall finishing).
