Hello,\nMy name is Steve Summerlin. I’m as pro as they come at painting from your child’s nursery walls, cabinets, vehicles all the way to your local Burger King. I am also very handy when it comes to minor plumbing and electrical, lawn care, equipment/appliance repairs and maintenance or any honey do list. I try to avoid large jobs as I have not had the best luck with employees. I have a plethora of quality references. I’m also a chemist and a chemical engineer if someone is in need of a tutor. My prices are probably too reasonable so I’ll soon be going back to engineering or chemistry. I’m sure I’m forgetting something but I can usually respond within 24 hours if not sooner. "There was some water damage found to my hardwood flooring and to one of my cabinets. They were able to find the cause of the damage and make the necessary repairs and match the flooring. Gray is always a safe bet when painting concrete countertops, since concrete is a variation of gray. You may also choose black or white, but those are much starker colors that only do well in certain kitchens. 

The least expensive way to build a kitchen countertop is to choose an affordable material. For example, laminate countertops cost about $1,250, while Corian® countertops cost $4,000 on average. Common wood and laminate tend to be the most affordable and DIY-friendly, which will save you the cost of labor. Otherwise, look for lower-end solid surface countertops or ceramic and stone tile. These cost less than natural stone slabs.

Avoid using harsh, gritty, or abrasive cleaners and sponges on Formica countertops. This includes steel wool, scouring pads, and strongly alkaline or acidic cleaning products like chlorine bleach, oven cleaner, drain cleaner, furniture polish, or vinegar. These can compromise the surface, leading to scuffs, discoloration, and other damage that will reduce the countertop's longevity. For increased comfort, an overhang of 15 to 18 inches is ideal, allowing for more space and a relaxed experience. However, a 10-inch overhang can be sufficient in certain situations, such as for bar-height countertops, when using small stools, or in smaller kitchens where space is limited. Taller countertops may also require less overhang than shorter ones. Ultimately, you should consider your specific needs for legroom and measure to ensure the overhang fits comfortably within your kitchen's layout.
