Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers' interests and make their concerns the basis of our business

"Our experience has not been good. We hired John to prep the ground an seed. Our start date was canceled and rescheduled 4 times. The day they arrived, we had concerns about the forecasted rain storms that were starting that evening. We were told the nylon mesh would hold the seed in place. It didn't, the next day we had deep rain ruts under the mesh, and expressed concern about the damage the rain did. No one came by to look at it, we continued reaching out, again we were canceled and rescheduled multiple times. ( Never put mesh in your yard, we have spent countless hours picking up trash bags full of this material It is still everywhere), this work was performed June 2024. These are the pictures as of Feb 2025. $7k job plus the hundreds of gallons of watering, yielded these results. Very unhappy customers."

"I had my driveway paved by Clint Crumley in November of 2024. He wanted 5k upfront which should Never be paid. I paid 42,690.00 total. After a big rain the sides of the driveway Started to fall away. They told me we Would have to do the work on the sides before they would come back. The company that recommended them said It wasn?t the customer?s job and that SSC had the equipment to do this repair And they should honor their commitment to us. The owner cursed at my family member and also accused me of insulting him when I said I would have another company look at the driveway and give their opinion. I am a 75 yr old senior widow and do not need to be treated like this. They gladly took my money and lied about their intentions to do a good job for us. I would never recommend them to other people. Welcome to J&M Pump Services. We are a family owned and run business with over 5 years of experience. At J&M Pump Services we strive to make your concrete experience easier and enjoyable. We pump and pour concrete for walls, slabs or footers and no job is to small or to big. We are happy to help you in anyway possible. Please request a quote. We look forward to working with you.

"I am writing to formally address the issues concerning the project I hired Jackson of J & M Concrete to complete at my property. The scope of work was to diagnose and repair a pond leak as well as address a sinkhole, with an estimated project completion time of 2-3 days. The estimated total price was $6300, of which 50% was to be paid in advance, $3150 was paid. On January 2, 2025, Jackson, of J & M, poured some concrete, which was to cure and settle before the next phase. The project was left incomplete. Jason removed all equipment and left the job site by the next morning, leaving large ruts in the yard from the trackhoe and other heavy equipment. The sinkhole was not addressed, nor the pond leak. It has remained unfinished and has been getting worse during the last 2 and a half months. I called days two and three when there was no sign of them coming back and made numerous phone calls over the next couple months to find out when they would be back to finish the job, seeing as they were paid beyond the scope of the job they did. It has been more than 2 ½ months and no return phone call. At the end of February, I received a letter from the concrete company contracted by J &M, Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete, which is seeking payment for their services – “Notice to Contractor and Request for Notice of Commencement, O.C.G.A & s.44-14-361.5.” I called them and found out that their bill had not been paid by J & M. I notified Jackson about this matter and he texted back saying he was in Florida and would call in the upcoming week due to a death in the family. As of today, March 13, the pond continues to leak, and the sinkhole remains unresolved, even growing in size. The equipment used during the project caused enough damage to require that additional fees be spent for hiring a landscaper to address the ruts in the lawn left by the trackhoe, as well as the excavated hill dirt used to block the creek from flowing into the pond. The partial blockage diverted the water, causing it to overflow its banks. Fortunately, the blockage has since been cleared."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Whether you decide to DIY paver installation or want to hire a pro, it’s smart to understand the process. First, you’ll need to prepare the area by clearing away grass and dirt. Next, you’ll add the paver base of gravel and sand before laying the pavers on top. You may need to cut pavers to fit your space or the landscaping design and add edging stones.

The average lifespan of an asphalt driveway ranges from 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last between 20 and 30 years, depending on several factors. Extreme temperature changes, cold weather, poor maintenance, and heavy traffic can all shorten the lifespan of your driveway. Be sure to reseal your driveway regularly to protect it from the elements and give it the best chance at a long lifespan.

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

Depending on project size, typically 1 to 3 days, including preparation and installation.
