"I recently gave Palm Springs Plumbing a not-so-good review, when actually the problem was more my fault than them... Since then Palm Springs reached out to me and made everything right. They returned the trip fee that I paid. Not many companies would ever do that. Hats off to PALM SPRINGS PLUMBING Billy D. M. Lula Ga."

"AquaGuard was the last of 6 companies to give me a quote to waterproof my basement. They were 1 of 3 companies that had a similar system of cutting interior drains and channeling the water that comes in through to a sump pump to pump it out. They were the most expensive of the three, but the quote they gave me was the most personalized (you actually choose what you want of what they recommend), and they are BBB recognized unlike the other two, with lifetime warranties (also not available from the other two. I question their judgment of using the Trust Dale seal (that guy is a hack), but everything else outweighed that piece. I did not like paying a deposit. Having worked in the residential construction industry, we were taught that was a no-no, but since this company wasn't a fly-by-night mom and pop, I decided it was ok and they probably wouldn't run off with my money (but I still didn't like it). I was told I would receive a call to schedule the work in the next 24 hours. It took a week. I got very nervous that they stole my money, and the lady on the phone said the sales guy hadn't entered it into the system yet. Anyway, it finally got scheduled, and I got numerous reminders via text, email, and phone. I appreciated that. Day-of construction arrived, and Peyton's crew was punctual and polite. We encountered a problem with one part of their plan upon initial inspection, but a guy on the crew figured out a fix. I was super impressed with his knowledge. They jacked up my floor without cracking the tile - they're VERY careful with it. Some of my walls did crack, but per their consultation and paperwork, it was expected. Putty and paint are all I need to fix it. I'm considering buying a couple more support beams because I'm so impressed with the work. The house got dusty from all the work, but it was also expected. The AquaGuard sales guy and crew did a very good job of setting expectations. Peyton and the team finished a few hours earlier than expected. They cleaned up very well. They showed me everything they did and answered all my questions. They even put my landscaping rocks back where they were after burying the pipe. The only thing that was weird about the job being done is that they didn't charge my card for like a week. I had to ask them twice to do it. Weird. Anyway, I would definitely recommend them if this is the type of basement waterproofing you're looking for."

"Donna and Jeff (owners) were hands on supervisors. They both patiently answered lots of questions and provided recommendations and resources out of their scope of business.  I felt confident that Jeff and Donna knew their business well and that my best interests were being well served.  I feel confident that they will respond quickly to any questions that I may have in the future regarding this project.  I would recommend them without any reservation.  I felt like I was fairly treated and charged a fair price for their services and the system installed.  Stated scheduled was maintained with proposed start and completion dates.

"Floors Sag or Shake was one of three estimates we got to reinforce the sagging floors in four rooms of our older home. We went with them based on the work they proposed and their positive online reviews, and we are completely satisfied with their work. They worked over three days to pour concrete footings, jack up the floors as best as possible, and then add permanent supports. They also removed an old vapor barrier and installed a new one. Each day, they arrived early and worked through the day. They communicated well and were courteous and professional. Prior to their work, our floors were not even close to level. More importantly, when walking on them, we could feel them "giving" under our weight. Now, our floors feel solid and look level throughout the house. While this type of work isn't as "fun" as other renovations, the cost of this repair is worth the peace of mind. Every time we walk across our floors, we are reminded of our investment. We also feel good about the transferable warranty—should we ever sell our home, a prospective home owner will have a good indicator that we invested in keeping this home safe and stable. Thanks, Floors Sag or Shake!"

"Provider cleaned dryer vent and duct immediately behind dryer.  Had to pay an additional $20 to have the representative clean dryer vent exhaust from the roof (1-story) down.  Advertisement was a little misleading because it stated dryer vent cleaning for #$89.

"I hired Mike's team over the past two years to restore 4,000 square feet of 230-year-old heart pine floors. Mike and Chris did an excellent job restoring my floors and installing ceramic tile in the bathrooms. We had a weird project schedule, and we were able to work together to get it done to museum quality for this historic home at a reasonable price. Mike goes beyond the call of duty to get the job done and done correctly."

"Our technician, Dameyan Jackson, called the night before the day of service to let me know the time that he would be here to service our system. On Friday, he called to let me know that he was available to come earlier than scheduled, if I would like. He arrived shortly after the phone call, came in and quickly recognized that the pump had failed. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with his service and look forward to him returning to install a new pump."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

Test regularly, clean the pump, and inspect the discharge line to ensure efficient operation.

Submersible and pedestal sump pumps are two popular types of sump pumps. Submersible models are covered by water in a sump pit, which helps keep the motor cooler and quieter. Pedestal sump pumps stick out of the sump pit, so the motor stays dry and is easier to access. Submersible sump pumps are the pricier option, but they also have longer life spans.

First, you can try unplugging the two sump pump cords, one for the motor and one for the float switch, then plugging them back in to reset the sump pump. You can also reset the sump pump by turning it off and back on at the breaker. Many sump pumps have a reset button, which you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device.

Yes, many providers offer warranties for new pumps and labor. Confirm terms before scheduling.
