"I hired John the beginning of this fall for a clean up and to cut down some branches from a tree in my backyard that was hanging on the roof that could fall any minute with a storm. John did an excellent job with it executing the project and making sure my house did not get a scratch. Now heâ s doing maintenance on my lawn by blowing leaves and trimming my bushes. Looks amazing for the holidays coming up. I definitely recommend."

"Josh and his crew are the best. First of all he responded quickly to my inquiry. He answered all my questions honestly. They showed up to work every day and they were very organized. They replaced all the deck boards on a very large deck. Their quality of work was excellent. And the site was clean when they were done. I would definitely hire him again."

I don't take on jobs that I have no business doing. I treat my customers with the respect that they're owed. I show up when I say I'm going to and I follow through with my commitments. I keep a meticulously clean work area and I'm willing to work around any needs of my customers. My passion is working on people's homes. It takes even more to offer them your hard earned money in hopes that they respect your home the way it should be respected. My goal for every project is to give my customers the best contractor experience they've ever had. Your home is sacred to you, which makes it sacred to me. Every project I take part in is more than just a job. It's a relationship and an experience. With me, your home is in good hands.

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to add an under-deck drainage system to an existing deck by retrofitting it to the structure. This process may require some prep work. For example, many drainage systems are installed on top of the deck joists, which would require you to remove the decking boards and railings first. To avoid this, you could opt for a below-the-joist drainage system. For best results and to ensure proper installation, it is recommended to consult a professional. A pro can inspect your deck, make any necessary repairs, and then install the drainage system correctly.

Whether composite decking is better than wood depends on your priorities, especially regarding budget and maintenance. Composite decking offers superior longevity (30 to 50 years) and durability, and it is low-maintenance, requiring no sanding, staining, or sealing. In contrast, wood decks typically last 10 to 30 years and need refinishing every few years. While the upfront cost of composite is higher than wood, the reduced maintenance can lead to long-term savings. If a lower initial cost is the primary factor, wood is the more affordable choice.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

To flatten a cupped deck board, start by ensuring it’s dry. Then, try flipping the board over so the cupped side faces down and reattach it. If that’s not possible, you can use screws to pull it tighter to the joists or plane the edges slightly to reduce the cup. It’s best to replace severely cupped boards.

You can add a roof to most decks, but you need to have it inspected first. If your deck didn’t come with a roof initially, it may not be able to handle the weight without some structural changes. You can add additional supports to your existing deck to safely add a roof, and tying your deck’s roof to an exterior wall can help add some structural stability, but remember these aren’t DIY projects and need to be left to a pro.
