"Best drywall work that I have had done in any of my homes in the past few years. Excellent customer service, finished the job on time, and pricing was great. We had a fair amount of big seams to fix as we took out a wall and scraped the entire downstairs ceilings popcorn off. They made easy work of a big job. Already planning on hiring them for another up coming project. 10/10 recommend"

"The company sent out "Alex". The job was to replace a small wall cabinet that fell from a previous handyman installed. Turns out the cabinet was installed without a wood anchor in the wall. Alex installed wood anchors in an open space in the wall, and showed me how it could not be pulled out. He repaired the sheetrock, blow-dried the wet mud, sanded it smooth, and matched the paint perfectly, then replaced the cabinet strong enough to sit on top of it ...all in 2.5 hours!!! Seriously EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL, quicker than expected time start to finish by Alex!!!! He was on time and very pleasant, neat and cleaned up the work space like he was never there. I am so happy & grateful. Thank you!"

"Mr. Humphrey was terrific! He did some stucco repair work that was necessitated by hardscape work that left a portion of the exterior wall exposed. He was diligent, did neat work, and a great job matching the color. His pricing was very fair for the job and quality of work."

"They did a great job with a ceiling repair and did it quickly. They accidentally took a diffuser I had plugged into the wall with them, and they brought it back to me the same day. Friendly, professional, and fast."

"I had some minor damage to the siding around my house. He gave me an estimate and started work on the chimney area. It turned out there was much more damage there than anticipated. Andrew kept me apprised of the situation, sending me pictures and even a video (I was at work) so I could see the issues he had uncovered. It took him 3 days to complete this job. At the end of each day he left the work area very neat and tidy. When he completed the job, it was excellent! I am so happy with the work. He will be my go-to guy whenever I need repairs done. We postponed some of the repairs I need done because of how extensive the damage was around the chimney. Andrew is very professional, courteous, dependable, and honest. I highly recommend him."

"Mike's crew arrived at the scheduled time and worked diligently to correct our erosion problem, while carefully maintaining the integrity of our lawn. The crew used existing field stones, as I had requested, to construct a short stone wall to hold back dirt in one problem area. They then used landscaping fabric covered with river rocks to manage another area of erosion. Both areas are aesthetically pleasing and should preserve the soil in those areas while allowing the natural flow of water during rain. The crew also removed invasive brush and vines in the area where the new drain pipe needed to exit our yard, while being mindful not to disturb the Nandinas. All parts of our yard were left clean and we can hardly tell where the trench was dug to lay the drain pipe. I appreciate their prompt and courteous service and attention to detail. I also appreciate that Mike honored an Angie's List coupon. I plan to use Mike's company again for future yard improvements."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on material type, labor rates, and additional features like decorative finishes or reinforcement.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

Depending on who you hire to build a retaining wall, the average cost, including demolition and reconstruction, for a 50-foot wall that's 4 feet in height is between $7,000 and $24,000.

Sand and gravel are two suitable options for filling behind a retaining wall. If you’re building your own retaining wall, you’ll complete this part of the process—known as backfilling—after you finish laying the blocks. Make sure not to skip it—otherwise, you could wind up with drainage issues, which can cause your retaining wall to collapse.
