"We had water leaking around the chimney every time it rained and honestly thought we needed a full rebuild. CFC inspected everything carefully and found the real issue was damaged flashing and cracks in the crown. They repaired it the same week, sent update photos during the process, and the chimney looks much better now. Really appreciated how professional and respectful the crew was."

"Gave us a quote over the phone with range for cleaning (dirtier chimney costs more). Called about 20 minutes before arriving. Very polite and professional, kept an eye out for our cat to make sure she didn't escape. Took care not to make a mess in my house. Free chimney inspection with the cleaning. Gave us some tips to extend the life of our rain pan so we won't have to replace for a few more years, saving us some money in the future. Business is local for us, and we like to hire local. Will definitely use them in the future."

"We found that an old antenna fell that was attached to the roof of our 2 story home. We called Archer chimney, they came out the same day, investigated the damage, and provided a quote. The following day, Joel and and Mike returned and repaired the roof. They were very professional and courteous. Pictures were provided before and after the job. We highly recommend this company and will be using them for additional projects in the future. Great job JOEL AND MIKE."

Small jobs welcome

"David and Zack came out to our house in December for a chimney cleaning and inspection. We knew we would be needing some degree of repair on our cap and pan, but David informed me that we had been fitted with the wrong size pan the whole time we have lived here and the damage was much more extensive than we anticipated. We were quite frustrated that no previous chimney service company brought the issue to our attention before the damage was done, but David put together a fair and comprehensive proposal to fix the chimney. Huge job that David and Zack’s crew, led by Jerry, got done a couple of days faster than quoted! Special shout out to Christine at the office for her speedy and super helpful communication! We will definitely be hiring them for all of our maintenance going forward! I give Nevermore Services five stars because that’s all I’m allowed to give!"

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

If a roof is not vented, trapped air and moisture have nowhere to go and will cause moisture to build up in the attic. When moisture builds up, it can cause mold and mildew, leaks, and rot. It will make the space hot and stuffy, which can result in higher energy bills as the HVAC system works overtime to regulate the temperature.

Properly maintained roof decking can last between 20 and 30 years on average, though it varies based on a few factors. Mainly, the quality of roof decking materials and environmental conditions have the most impact on longevity. You can extend its lifespan by regularly inspecting your roof and making repairs as necessary.

Insurance might cover a 30-year-old roof, but it’s fairly rare. Most companies don’t offer coverage for roofs older than 20 years, but certain robust plans will handle it. However, even if the plan offers coverage for an aged roof, it could be diminished. Many plans only cover the original cost or the actual cash value (ACV) of the roof once enough time has passed. ACV is based on the roof's age and condition at the time of repairs.

Yes, because it prevents water damage, deters pests from accessing the roof decking, protects the roof from wind damage, and lengthens the roof's life. Plus, building codes require it.

You can secure roof decorations like inflatables and other Christmas decor by tying a rope or attacking bungee cords to your roof clips. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you can use sandbags for extra support. Like with Christmas lights, avoid using staples or duct tape.
