"The technician showed up on time, cheerful, polite. Inspected chimney and showed me the problem. Went above and beyond by calling the manufacturer of my stove and determining that the chimney was not as spec'd for the stove - got the correct type chimney and made a note for future reference. Very pleased with work and will use again."

"We had water leaking around the chimney every time it rained and honestly thought we needed a full rebuild. CFC inspected everything carefully and found the real issue was damaged flashing and cracks in the crown. They repaired it the same week, sent update photos during the process, and the chimney looks much better now. Really appreciated how professional and respectful the crew was."

"Gave us a quote over the phone with range for cleaning (dirtier chimney costs more). Called about 20 minutes before arriving. Very polite and professional, kept an eye out for our cat to make sure she didn't escape. Took care not to make a mess in my house. Free chimney inspection with the cleaning. Gave us some tips to extend the life of our rain pan so we won't have to replace for a few more years, saving us some money in the future. Business is local for us, and we like to hire local. Will definitely use them in the future."

"We found that an old antenna fell that was attached to the roof of our 2 story home. We called Archer chimney, they came out the same day, investigated the damage, and provided a quote. The following day, Joel and and Mike returned and repaired the roof. They were very professional and courteous. Pictures were provided before and after the job. We highly recommend this company and will be using them for additional projects in the future. Great job JOEL AND MIKE."

Small jobs welcome

"David and Zack came out to our house in December for a chimney cleaning and inspection. We knew we would be needing some degree of repair on our cap and pan, but David informed me that we had been fitted with the wrong size pan the whole time we have lived here and the damage was much more extensive than we anticipated. We were quite frustrated that no previous chimney service company brought the issue to our attention before the damage was done, but David put together a fair and comprehensive proposal to fix the chimney. Huge job that David and Zack’s crew, led by Jerry, got done a couple of days faster than quoted! Special shout out to Christine at the office for her speedy and super helpful communication! We will definitely be hiring them for all of our maintenance going forward! I give Nevermore Services five stars because that’s all I’m allowed to give!"

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Most chimney crowns cannot be seen from the street or yard. As a result, most homeowners are completely unaware that their damaged or deteriorating chimney crowns need repairs or replacements. Chimney inspections offered by contractors can verify any damage.

A sagging, cracked, or uneven foundation, worn or outdated electrical systems, poor plumbing, and slow sewer lines are all common deal breakers that stem from home inspections. Musty odors, uneven floors, and sticky doors and windows may also be deal breakers that will tell you when to to walk away from a home inspection.

Yes, installing a skylight can impact your roof’s structural integrity and may void the roof warranty if not done correctly. Cutting into the roof weakens its waterproof barrier, and improper flashing or sealing can lead to leaks and long-term damage. Many roofing manufacturers require skylights to be installed by certified professionals to maintain warranty coverage, so it’s important to check your policy before installation.

EPDM roofing has exceptional waterproof capabilities, so water pooling on an EPDM roof typically isn't an issue in terms of leaking. However, water should not sit on the roof for more than 48 hours, as it can become a significant problem that requires immediate attention. To reduce the risk of damage, any EPDM roof should have a proper drainage system. If you notice ongoing issues with water pooling, you should call a roofing professional to check for underlying problems like a clogged roof drain or structural shifting.

Yes, a roof blister can cause a leak if it gets to the point where it pops. Prior to popping, a roof blister is just an aesthetic issue, but once it pops, you’re left with a small hole in the shingle. Water from rain and snow can easily get inside this hole and interact with your underlayment, roof decking, and the building material below.
