"Wonderful experience with Five Star Bath Solutions from start to finish. David was very friendly and knowledgeable during the zero pressure consultation. The crew was punctual and answered all my questions, while providing excellent workmanship and cleanup afterward. Lisa did a great job proving scheduling updates along the way. Project manager Kyle even jumped in to install three faucets at project end. I would highly recommend Five Star to anyone."

"We couldn’t be happier with our two bathroom renovations by Charles and Brian of Tubs and More of Warner Robins! It was a pleasure to work with them from start to completion. Below is the following work that was completed: A tub was removed, two showers were renovated, and new countertops and sinks were installed. He did some extra work (touch-up painting and replacing the towel racks) that was not in the agreement. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the finished space are truly impressive. Our renovated bathrooms exceed our expectations, and we’re grateful to Tubs and More for bringing our vision to life! I have referred Tubs and More to three other potential customers. Very professional and friendly!"

"This is a really nice business! It was Friday late afternoon and I needed a new faucet installed on my kitchen sink. I figured I would have to wait till Monday. This really nice man told me he would have someone here in about forty minutes. My faucet could not be fixed and the repairman went and got me a faucet and installed it for me. This is a great company with excellent service. Thanks so much!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Keep your household safe by locating the main water shutoff valve before starting any plumbing. Secure open trenches with barricades to protect children and pets from unstable sandy soils in Byron. Schedule disruptive work during cooler months to avoid extreme summer heat. Always flush the water system after repairs to clear dislodged sediment. Ensure proper ventilation around gas water heaters to prevent hazardous carbon monoxide accumulation near the floor.

Helpful?

Local ground conditions in Byron add complexity to plumbing. The shifting clay and sandy soils stress underground pipes over time. Mid-century homes contain corroding galvanized steel or cast iron pipes that require full replacement. Additionally, many local homes sit on concrete slab foundations, demanding extensive concrete cutting to access buried lines. Properties near agricultural areas also rely on private wells and septic systems, requiring extra planning.

Helpful?

Several factors dictate the timeline for plumbing in GA. State code mandates rough-in inspections before closing walls, inherently requiring multiple visits. Slabs require concrete cutting, and the new concrete must cure before restoration finishes. Older pipe deterioration discovered on-site expands the project scope. Securing specialty parts from outside the area and coordinating water main shutdowns with local utilities also extend the timeline beyond a single session.

Helpful?

Start by scheduling a water quality assessment to check for hardness and agricultural runoff common in Byron. Inspect your sewer line or septic system, as older homes contain fragile clay pipes. Evaluate the water heater for sediment buildup caused by hard water. Identify your existing pipe materials to catch corroding galvanized steel early. Finally, protect outdoor hose bibs against winter freezes and verify backflow prevention compliance.

Helpful?

Hidden expenses during plumbing stem from slab foundations. Discovering leaks beneath a slab triggers concrete cutting and restoration expenses. Upgrading non-compliant prior work to meet Georgia state code expands the project scope significantly. Excavation in heavy clay soils or encountering high groundwater extends labor time. Additionally, opening walls reveals mold growth from slow leaks, requiring immediate remediation. Unmarked private utilities damaged during excavation also add expenses.
