"This 'deal' was for two hours electrical work for x$. Upon starting with the fan he advised me that a fan install usually took him about one hour. Upon completion, he took the basement door fixture downstairs and returned shortly, telling me that we'd have to pay for another hour (at $92 per hour) if he was to do the installation at the basement door. Well, what was I to do but agree to pay the extra charge. My mistake was not accurately charting time of arrival etc. The service tech was on time and very (maybe too) talkative. My only complaint is, I feel that both jobs could have been completed within the 2-hour "deal" time."

"Deck Pro did an outstanding job enlarging our screened in porch.  The results exceeded our expectations.  The workers (including concrete slab, carpenters, roofers, gutters and painters) were highly skilled and very professional in their crafts.  They cleaned up and removed debris daily.  Their knowledge of the project provided good suggrestions.  The workers were polite, professional, friendly and took pride in their work.We would not hesitate to use Deck Pro in the future or to recommend them to others.  The only negatvie we experienced was that the deadline to begin the project was delayed by about a month.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The process typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the project size and level of customization.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Professionals such as architects, general contractors, electricians, HVAC specialists, and interior designers are crucial to effectively planning and executing significant renovations.

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.
