"I?d vetted other contractors for a total deck replacement with the addition of a roof covering. I chose McCullough Brothers for several reasons. It was his easy demeanor, communication skills, and his openness and willingness to answer any and all questions. Also, for his Angi list reviews, the material samples presented and their quality, and his confidence to totally hide an exposed beam where others could not. This made for a smooth, and consistent looking deck ceiling. It was also where he fell in line regarding pricing. He was neither the least nor most expensive and quoted a higher quality deck material than all the other contractors. His quote included top of the line Trex deck boards with hidden fasteners vs. the others who quoted standard pressure treated lumber and exposed fasteners. And finally it was his agreement to obtain the necessary permits and his ?not a problem? allowance of written modifications to the quote prior to signing, His team was very professional a"

"Southern Specialty Contractor LLC, gave me an estimate on my property to install a roof and I agreed to move forward after all parties agreed to a price. I informed the representative Manny that we were on a strict budget and could only afford what we were quoted. He did a complete assessment of the roof and said he thought we would be fine with the price quoted and did not anticipate any additional problems based on his knowledge and expertise. My husband and I decided to move forward because he seemed to be an honest person. We paid half of the invoice and the other half was due at completion. We never got a phone call, text or email stating that they found any additional problems. Unfortunately, when the job was completed they sent an invoice with an additional $1995. I called and told them they made a mistake on the invoice and I was told that they found some additional issues and addressed them without my permission. I have never in my life heard of a company making additional repairs to a property without discussing it with the homeowner. I believe this is a scam. They submitted a lower bid to get the job and inflated it after the work was completed. This man had the nerve to file suit against me for repairs that I didn't approve. I have a feeling that this is how they do business. That is very unprofessional to inflate a price without discussing it with the customer. I will definitely see him in court. Please shop around before you do business with this company. I REFUSE to allow him to scam me. I wish I could give zero stars. He was paid in Full for the services provided."

I am a certified Lutron lighting technician and do consulting work for a variety of lighting applications to include all LED installs. I specialize in eliminating receptacles from kitchen back-splashes and installing high intensity, low energy LED under-cabinet lighting with full dimming control. I also teach the Master Electricians Exam Class. My company does both residential and commercial projects. I also am a certified lighting control technician. Recently we've completed projects that range from installing high-bay commercial lighting to changing out a light switch. My customers tell me that they trust my electrical evaluations and my work. I am often commended for being on time and communicating via phone if I will be delayed. I've never had an unhappy customer because I do what I commit to, and I don't bill the customer until the work is completed to their satisfaction.

John was very professional, did the job well, and I was very pleased with his work. The only problem I had is that I wasn't very clear about what I needed. He did everything (and beyond) that I actually needed from an electrician. The only thing I can figure out why I gave him that review (unfortunately, did not see it after I hit enter b/c I was at work) is my own mistake and user error. In fact, I want to hire him again for another job. Sorry, John, that it took me 5 years to rectify this. I don't get on Angies List that often so didn't see your response."
