Cedarwood Forest LLC did a substantial addition to my home from Nov 2024 until David quit our project and we had to take over in July 2025. While David told us our project would take 5 months, we came to see early on that was unrealistic. Things were chaotic and poorly done from the beginning and communication was terrible. There were multiple subcontractors for every trade. We had to stay on David to ensure many things were corrected. In the end, he left us an unfinished project and a number of unpaid subcontractors. We had to figure how to get an overflowing dumpster and disgusting port a potty picked up. Ive ended up with a nice addition but it came at insanely high cost financially and emotionally.

I hired David in Mid September 2024. It was disastrous to say the least. The project involved demolition and Rebuild A sunroom of 225 ft.² and also adding an addition right above this room. His employees chris and Fred are As incompetent as he is. At one point He was working with an electrician I introduced him to. This Electrician told me none of his clients are happy with him. He would juggle Multiple projects at the same time and had no clue what’s going on. If you have a simple Handyman type of project, he is OK. But anything involving structural integrity, he had no clue. I have all the evidence, including pictures, communications to share with you if you want to find out more. David and his crew were excellent. David worked with us to solve all the issues providing advice and recommendations on how to best solve our issues. His team worked everyday except Sunday to complete our project. David kept me informed of issues which might delay the project (materials). The guys cleaned up nightly and when the project was completed. David walked through the final project when they finished to ensure we were satisfied. The crew was a pleasure to have on site very friendly and respectful. I would definitely hire again.

Some guys build decks and porches, and then there are the professionals. Let me outline for you my definition of a “professional” as Cedarwood Forest falls into this category. First and foremost there’s the painstaking attention to quality. I caught Cedarwood’s team numerous times triple-checking what was being built not only met the exact specifications but took those little extra steps (meaning more time at their cost) to ensure what they were building reflected the work of the top craftsman they are. Professionals - meaning they continuously thought outside of the box, thinking three steps ahead to make improvement recommendations using their experience to make the end-product even better. Professional - using top-grade materials but also being practical to use materials when appropriate that helped us meet our budget. Professional - always standing behind their work. Even Cedarwood makes the occasional error, but the difference is they identify the mistake before we found it, and re-work the task at their cost to make it right. Professional - Getting it done on time. No false timelines are promised, instead outline the expectations and equally important, keep us in the loop as to bumps and changes that come along. They understand communication with us is critical. Professional - not the least expensive but more than a fair price reflecting the superior quality product they deliver. These are the differences and why we chose Cedarwood Forest instead of “a guy who builds decks”.

This is my first house so I'm new to hiring contract work. I needed to have a dryer vent installed, and an exterior door removed. David was my contact for Cedarwood, and was great and very communicative. He was upfront with how much everything would cost and was willing to work with our budget. The handyman that serviced my project is Jesus, and he was very courteous and professional. I was working in the house doing my own projects while he was working, and he even offered to grab the stuff I needed at Home Depot when he needed to get more supplies! Both of the projects were messy, and Jesus didn't leave any of it behind for me to deal with later, which I really appreciate. I couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommended. Cedarwood Forest and Jesus will be my first contact for any future home projects.

Most of the work was done OK. Some communication issues. Problem arose when he installed something incorrectly. He was paid for the work. When I discovered his error, he charged me to come back and fix it including additional parts that he had messed up. When I was still having problems I asked him if we were going to be charged yet again and I haven't heard from him since. Make sure before he starts work that he guarantees his work and will come back and fix something that he didn't do correctly the first time within a reasonable period of time. I would never hire him again.

I cut the door sweep to fit the door as is standard practice when installing a door sweep. You asked afterward for the sweep to fill the gap between the door and the door jam, this is not normal practice so I charged you for the change and I split the cost of the labor with you. The problem came when I didn't get back to you in the time frame you thought was necessary, I apologize, but my son was born during that time and I took a few weeks off to spend time at home with my family. I'm sorry I did not come back fast enough, I apologise for any inconvenience it caused you."

Mr Dacre of Cedarwood Forest, LLC contracted with me and the Board of Directors of our small HOA for deconstructing two bump-out structures on two homes along with minor repairs to other homes. Mr. Dacre deconstructed the two structures and when the damage was revealed, we needed to determine if the repairs were covered by insurance, they were not. That determination resulted in a delay, thus the project was divided into two Phases. Phase 1 included the deconstruction and minor repairs on other homes. Mr Dacre's work in Phase one was satisfactory, and he was paid for this work. Phase 2 was the repair and rebuilding of the bump-outs.During the delay between the two phases, Mr Dacre asked for a down payment on the work of Phase 2. The HOA advanced him a check for $1,075 that he cashed. Before we could start Phase 2, he moved to Georgia and did not return to Florida to start the Phase 2 work. He did arrange for an independent contractor to rebuild the structures, that contractor was paid separately and not through Mr Dacre. I have attempted to contact Mr Dacre through texts and USPS mail requesting for an accounting of the down payment I gave him, he has not responded to me, nor sent a refund. While he accepted a down payment from the HOA, he did not complete the work he had contracted to do.

I took a deposit in the beginning and brought all of the equipment to the site to do the work. We opened all of the walls and discovered extensive damage, you wanted to see if the insurance would cover it so we put it on hold. I did numerous repairs on other buildings for you and changed you for that work as well, there was no mention of it being a deposit for the future work. I said on that day that I was going up to Georgia soon and would not be able to wait for the insurance company, I said I would refer you to someone else to finish the work. After a few weeks, you got back to me and I contacted another contractor who came out and did the work for you, I know that the whole project went over your budget but I do not think it is fair that you have worded this review like this. Please present any text message or email or anything where I ask you for a down payment for the future work that needs to be done, the first I heard of your dissatisfaction was this review."
