I am currently doing sub jobs but can fit in small jobs here and there till the business is fully up and running. I don't mind fixing drywall and and am a good painter. I'll take the small jobs no one else will usually touch. I am an all round handyman that takes pride in his work. I've only been here for a short while in Atlanta area and have noticed that people have just stopped taking pride in a job well done. I'm starting this business to show people that there are still a few people that do the work properly. I will start building my Atlanta portfolio but I need your help to do so. I won't say I'm cheap but I am fair, honest, and don't mind working the long or late hours needed to finish up a job.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, columns can be used to replace a load-bearing wall. However, you will need to use a support beam as well. Using columns can be a great way to provide additional support for large areas and improve your home's aesthetics.

Yes, you can replace the frame around a window by completing either a partial replacement or a full replacement. With a partial replacement, your window specialist will remove the trim around the window and replace or repair just the damaged portion. For a full replacement, your tech will need to remove the window, replace the frame, and then reinstall the window.

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

No, beams are the primary load-bearers for flooring or roofing systems, and they distribute the weight of the structure to your foundational supports, while joists bear far less weight and distribute their loads to the beams. Beams are usually thicker and longer, and they have support posts or foundation walls beneath them for support.

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.
