"I gave him the list of things I needed done and kept waiting for him to get back to me with a price quote. He kept changing his price quote and then kept putting off starting the work. He then asked me for $150 in advance for materials but refused to show me a receipt and i suspect he only bought about $15 in supplies. I myself had already spent about $750-800 in materials. He was an hour late the 1st day and already upset with me because he had to pick up supplies at Home Depot and due to a misunderstanding on his part had gone to the wrong part of the store He made some personal remarks that were very offensive to me. He was also very rude and disrespectful to his son who was helping him and he kept disappearing to talk on the phone. One of the things he was paid to do was fix the toilet which he did wrong and messed up worse than it was before he started. He also left the toilet seat completely off the toilet. He had originally told me it would be an all day, 2-day job but at one point he disappeared and when I went to look for him he was in his truck and had been in there for 45 minutes "figuring out my bill" which i suspect was him trying to figure out how he could charge me the total $500. When all was said and done he charged me $500 for about $150 worth of work, including a new stup finder because his had broken, so apparently now I have to pay for it. He refused to show me a receipt and he was out the door by 3pm, after sitting in his truck since 2pm. He will not be doing anymore work for me and he will no longer be allowed on my property because i feel he robs people. I feel that he felt he could take advantage of me because I am a disabled woman living by myself. He had made a point to ask whether or not I lived alone or had any nearby family, making me think that when he heard that I didn't he assumed I was fair game to be taken advantage of."

"To make a long story short, never received an itemized quote after many requests and after he sent people to start working. Price gave over phone call changed 3 times between 2 days, still never receiving a legitimate quote in black and white. Wanted me to give my personal check to the sub contracted workers he sent to deliver to him. Never received a schedule for work to start until night before he sent someone to do work without a quote keep in mind. Work was sloppy, simple caulking just clumped up not sanded left on areas that weren't even supposed to have caulk. When workers asked for check they were here for 2 hours doing minimal touch up stuff wanted $950!!! Vinny not answering calls or texts in timely manner or at all, finally says that the contractors charge by the day so he has to charge that fee plus his, MY response is they didn't work a full day, he said I have them come to my house to do things when they finish early!!!! So I'm supposed to pay for his house work too???? No lie blew me away he would even admit that to a customer. Next day someone else shows up for wallpaper and asked for a check of $1,150. STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED A BLACK AND WHITE QUOTE, after many requests. Refused to pay until he comes in person to see the work, bring back the workers to do it correctly and pick up payment as the business owner. He continually brings up how he's battling an illness and if so I'm sorry for that, but starting to think this is how he SCAMS people into just paying."

Creating Divine Order seeks to help people aged 55 and older to downsize. We have staff members certified in Redesign; Staging and graduates from universities with related degrees. All staff members are employees; bonded and have been background checked. We provide Workman's Compensation Insurance for all. We subcontract moving companies who have been well screened and have employees. We provide an initial consult for aged 55 and older at no charge; typically this lasts 1 to 1 and a half hours. We are good listeners and this makes your move go faster! For non seniors this charge is waived if you do decide to use our services or we can provide a 30 minute consult at no charge. Our prices are $50.00 an hour. Travel is charged when we travel beyond 30 miles at this price. We do not accept referral fees or give them; instead we ask that our vendors extend these fees to our customers in the form of a discount. What services do we provide? We can do anything related to downsizing or professional organizing! Typically we manage moves, including providing an over all move calendar and custom floor plan; do all coordination with the movers; pack, unpack and set up a new home. We then do a light clean, remove clutter and stage the home for resale, doing a deep clean when everything is moved out. We hold estate or moving sales and inventory what is left for charity. When we do refer to vendors they are licensed, insured and senior sensitive. By the way, we love working with our clients! We are enriched by their lives and we enjoy seeing everything in the new home placed in divine order.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

The pros of wallpaper include its durability and longer lifespan than paint, as well as its versatility. The durability can translate to lower long-term costs for upkeep and replacement, and the versatility means you have more options for customizing rooms in your home. Some downsides include that it’s difficult to remove, it’s not ideal for rooms or areas exposed to high moisture content or sun exposure, and it’s tricky to install. A professional wallpaper hanger can help mitigate these issues, though, by installing it properly and in areas suitable for wallpaper.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.

Most experts would not recommend hanging wallpaper over existing wallpaper more than twice. Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. Unless you like bubbling paint and peeling wallpaper as an interior design choice, it’s better to remove at least one existing layer before adding any more to a wall.

Ideally, you want to ask the wallpaper installers you’re considering for examples of past work, and references you can call. These will prove that the installer can handle your job, make your room look professional, and will also give you some insight into the kind of customer service you can expect. Before you start calling companies, you might want to narrow down your options by finding installers with mostly positive reviews online.
