To make a long story short, never received an itemized quote after many requests and after he sent people to start working. Price gave over phone call changed 3 times between 2 days, still never receiving a legitimate quote in black and white. Wanted me to give my personal check to the sub contracted workers he sent to deliver to him. Never received a schedule for work to start until night before he sent someone to do work without a quote keep in mind. Work was sloppy, simple caulking just clumped up not sanded left on areas that weren't even supposed to have caulk. When workers asked for check they were here for 2 hours doing minimal touch up stuff wanted $950!!! Vinny not answering calls or texts in timely manner or at all, finally says that the contractors charge by the day so he has to charge that fee plus his, MY response is they didn't work a full day, he said I have them come to my house to do things when they finish early!!!! So I'm supposed to pay for his house work too???? No lie blew me away he would even admit that to a customer. Next day someone else shows up for wallpaper and asked for a check of $1,150. STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED A BLACK AND WHITE QUOTE, after many requests. Refused to pay until he comes in person to see the work, bring back the workers to do it correctly and pick up payment as the business owner. He continually brings up how he's battling an illness and if so I'm sorry for that, but starting to think this is how he SCAMS people into just paying.

Vinny provided us with a written estimate the same day he met with us, on 9/26.  We got estimates from 2 other companies and decided on using Vinny because he could start the job the quickest and he gave us the impression he knew exactly what we needed and how to get the work done right.  This proved to be a valid assumption.
Vinny contacted us the day before we were to have the pressure washing done and gave us a time to expect the crew on Thursday, 10/17.  This time was slightly off, but that was due to the crew completing another job prior to starting our work.  Mauricio Gomez was leading the crew and they did a thorough job.  They picked up after themselves and made sure all hoses they used were properly put away and all faucets were turned off.  Mauricio informed us that the carpenter would be there on the following day, 10/18.
Vinny also called Thursday afternoon, 10/17, to see how things went and to let us know that his carpenter would be there on Friday, 10/18, to begin the repair work needed.  Good communications.
On Friday, Estuardo, the carpenter, arrived at 10 AM.  We explained the work to be done (carpentry repairs, squirrel damaged areas to be primed and wrapped in aluminum) and he went to Home Depot for the required supplies, which took about an hour.    At 2:30 PM, Estaurdo told us he had run out of aluminum and would return on Saturday to finish the work.  When asked what time to expect him, Estuardo indicated he would be back sometime after 9 AM.  He actually arrived on Saturday around 10:30 AM, but quickly got to work and finished at 1:15 PM.  He had primed and caulked all the carpentry repairs on the garage door areas as well as finished all the squirrel damaged areas and the replacement of wood needed on one of the patio columns in the back.  He picked up after himself and let us know when he was done.   I asked him if he knew if the painters would be onsite on Monday but he wasn't sure and recommended I call Vinny.
Since I hadn't heard from Vinny by Tuesday morning, 10/22, I called to determine when to expect in the painters.  We did have scattered rain showers predicted, so Vinny agreed the painters would return on Thursday, 10/24, which they did.  Again, Mauricio was leading the painting crew but somehow he didn't have the paint yet, so he went to get paint while the crew began all the prep work.  Unfortunately, the paint number for the base of the house changed, so Mauricio ended up having to make a second trip using the actual leftover paint we had so Sherwin Williams could match it.   The painting crew worked until 6 PM that night but  had not finished and needed some additional paint, so they were scheduled to return on Friday morning to finish up.  The paint crew arrived around 9 AM on Friday morning and quickly got to work.  They finished up at 11:30 AM, and Mauricio did a walk through with us to make sure we were happy with the work.  At that time, we found a couple of spots that needed touch up, as did Mauricio.  These areas were quickly handled and the job was completed.  The crew did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves and making sure everything was put back in place.  My husband and I were pleased with the work done and the time frame in which it was done.

Vinny, the  owner and general contractor, provided two, separate written quotes for the interior and exterior painting and repairs. This is a rental home which, at the time of the contract, was empty  and needed a complete repainting inside and out and an updating with the removal of wallpaper in three rooms.  The contracts clearly stated all of the services and materials to be provided, the warranty and an approximate completion date.
I had used Vinny before for interior painting on my personal residence and was extremely satisfied with the workmanship and schedule of  completion. The original wallpaper had been applied without wall preparation by the builder and several walls required texturing before painting could take place.  The contractor brought in to texture, covered all exposed areas in plastic before performing the texturing.
On this project, the workmanship was also excellent and any items I asked to be addressed, after a segment of work was completed, was addressed and corrected. I was extremely happy with the workmanship and final look, both inside and out, but was disappointed that the project went over the proposed timeline.  However, I understand the challenge of finding reliable subs for the various stages of the project required and Vinny is unwilling to compromise on quality workmanship.  What really helped to make this lengthier timeframe more acceptable is that Vinny didn't require any down payment for any portion of the work or materials nor requested any partial payments during the entire project.

Got the quote, submitted colors and the date was set for the project to begin.  The job took about 2.5 days and they showed up when they said they would, they were very clean, detailed and professional.  Can't say enough about the painting team that completed our work.  We would use them again in a minute!!!  Very happy.

From the moment I met Vinny, I felt like I was in good hands. He was very thorough with the details and helped me understand the services he would provide. He was very flexible on the times his team would come to my house. They arrived on schedule and painted my entire 2800 sq ft house in three days as requested!

I contacted Vinny about a bathroom ceiling, that no matter how much I primed and repainted, it kept peeling.  The ceiling needed to be
scraped, replastered, primed and repainted.  In the process, Vinny noticed that the ceiling seemed to be holding moisture.  He did a
moisture test without extra cost to me, in order to determine the extent of any additional work needed.
Although, it took several weeks of phone calls after the initial visit and estimate, the work was completed, and turned out well.  My renter is happy, and I am happy.  In addition, my tenant said that Vinny and the guys were very nice, pleasant and clean.  This means a lot to us and I will keep Vinny on my list of workers to contact again.

The finished job was great except for some minor things. The estimated price was good as well until we got the final bill. Be prepared to pay for screws, sponges, etc.
We have 6 dogs and the carpenter who did most of our work, Andrew, enjoyed the dogs. That was very helpful since they didn't have to be locked up while he was here.
You will need to get a receipt for everything and watch what they buy and throw out. I had a lot of wasted materials that they wanted me to pay for.
Also, keep an eye on your outside faucet. That's where they clean up. 3 times they left the water running.
It would have been nice if the owner had shown up a bit more often. We saw him at the beginning and the end. It appears he uses his phone to run his business. I asked him twice to come over and check on a problem I had and he never showed claiming my husband said he couldn't come until 9am which my husband never said. It was requested not to begin work until 9 because we need to take care of the dogs first thing. Seems Vinny only does house calls between 8-8:30. We were never told that.
All in all the workmanship was done well. Not sure what we had to put up with was all worth it though.

Hands down the WORST experience ever with a contractor. He actually BEGAN work with out any consent. No signed contract, no picking finishes. Just started ripping down wall paper in our front LOBBY after screwing up the previous small job. We weren't planning on using him for the lobby project. He sent me an estimate after much deresess, and then my husband comes home from work and says" did you know Vinny has started ripping down wall paper in the lobby?" What?????? I was never going to use him because he totally bought the wrong materials for the previous small job. He then threatens to lean the building!!!!! I will not be using Angie's list or VINNY'S PAINTING &HANDIWORK ever again.

Called Vinny for an estimate and he was prompt in getting back to me. Turned out he could not make the first estimate appointment we scheduled, but he did call, so I wasn't waiting around too long. As soon as he did arrive, however, he knew what needed to be done as far as the ceiling drywall repairs before I even asked him. I also inquired about pressure washing the house and he said he could do that, too. I was a little surprised by the cost of the whole project, but that's most likely because I am a new homeowner and the pressure washing job was more extensive than most. He explained the reasons for his estimate clearly and I was satisfied that it was a fair price. He came so highly recommended on Angie's List that I didn't mind paying a little more than I expected. Vinny's guys showed up on a Friday in the morning and worked all day on pressure washing and repair. The head workman asked me to approve the work as it was finished and explained any complications. It turned out they needed another day to finish the taping and texturing of the exterior ceilings, but they came early Saturday morning and worked tirelessly until it was completed. The head workman again took me around and had me approve all the work and answered any questions I had, even offering small bits of advice on how to complete some other exterior projects around the house. They cleaned up so well, it was like they weren't even there. My house looks much better and the ceiling drywall repair is so seamless, you'd never know there was a big, gaping hole in it before they began. Since this was the first big-ish project I've had to plan and hire for, I am very pleased (and relieved) with the result.

The plastering went well. I had no idea what was involved so I was glad to get the expertise of Vinny when he came with the estimate. His was not the lowest estimate, but he was careful to make sure we understood the limits of the process. His team came on time and was very professional. We were happy with the results.

The interior job was adequate. There was however evidence of some drips and splatter but overall for the price the quality was fairly good. The pool deck was another story. One week after the deck was painted it flaked off into the pool water causing us to incur additional expense to have the pool vacuumed. Also, calls to Vinny's went unanswered when we tried to report the problem. We finally got a response when we threatened to report his behavior and poor work on Angie's list. He agreed to repaint the surface with a better quality paint. It is now April and we notticed the paint chipping again. As we write this another painter is presure washing the pool deck to remove the poor quality paint and we are having to pay to have the surface repainted. In the opinion of this second painter, when he examined the can from the paint that was used, the paint should never have been used for this purpose. Because of the need to redo the deck because of the use of the inferior paint product we would not recommend Vinny's.

Vinny is very personable and sounds like he knows what he is talking about, which is why we chose to use his services. But, he personally did not do any work on our home. I believe that if he personally was doing the work, we would have been happy with his services. Our biggest problem was that he would never give us a breakdown of costs on paper, everything was verbally agreed upon. We ended up having a difference of opinionrs regarding the work performed and the timeliness, and decided to stop using his services. To our surprise, the price of the services performed skyrocketed from what was verbally agreed upon. He threatened to put a lien on our home and take us to court if we did not pay him right away. I've had 2 contractors visit the home since this incident, and both agreed that he overcharged us for the partial work performed. Although I believe that he is capable of very good work, I would strongly suggest any future homeowners to get everything in writing from Vinny to prevent this incident from happening to you.
