I was overjoyed to find Legacy Painting because I was looking for someone to remove wallpaper and paint. I had had two painters turn down the job because they found out that wallpaper removal was involved. Needless to say, I was overjoyed to meet Amy. She was reliable, extremely hardworking and professional. She did an incredibly immaculate job removing the wallpaper, repairing, priming, and painting the walls in my hallway. She quoted me a price, stuck to it, and got the job done, sometimes working on her own when I had to go out. Since practically my whole house has wallpaper, I will certainly be using her services again. She can definitely be trusted to do a fantastic job! After that project, I hired Amy to refinish my front wooden door which was dry as a bone and mildewed. Again, she did a beautiful job cleaning, sanding, and refinishing the door. She mixed her own stain, consulting with me on the color. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. In addition, for a small additional price, she stained some naughty dog scratches on two other wooden surfaces. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Amy did a fantastic job. We had only three weeks to get the interior of our new home painted before our move in date. She worked extra hours to make sure to meet that date. She was utterly reliable and trustworthy, working most of the time completely on her own. She was able to accommodate a few extras that popped up within our timeframe, and took care of a handful of small issues she discovered without requesting reimbursement. Her work was careful and thorough, despite the time pressure. She kept us informed of her progress throughout the job. We would definitely hire her again! Something to be aware of -- we initially tried to request a quote electronically through the Angie's List website, and Amy never received the request. She did respond promptly after we called her business phone number.

We are really glad to have Amy help us with some problem areas in our home. In addition to painting our sun room, we wanted her advise on repairing a popcorn ceiling in our kitchen where we had replaced an old fluorescent light with a smaller round light, leaving many holes, damaged popcorn texture and different colored paint. During the process, we found Amy to be a great communicator, talking through the options, pros and cons. Never rushing to complete the job, but looking for the best solution. We believe Amy saved us from having to paint the entire ceiling by her cautiously repairing the damaged section, matching the texture and color perfectly.

Amy is super professional. Everything was explained in detail prior to the work (testing wallpaper for ability to strip, etc). Any unexpected findings were reported immediately and she waited until I approved before proceeding. Everything was neat and tidy at completion.

Amy did a wonderful job. She was very conscientious and thorough. She explained exactly what needed to be done and the cost as soon as she had time to evaluate the wallpaper. Amy was prompt and careful in her work, minimizing the dust and mess as much as possible. She is highly professional and did super work. This is the 3rd time Amy has removed wall paper for us and we highly recommend her services. If we did not do our own painting, we'd certainly use her as well for that!

After 15 yrs of loving my wall paper, I fell in love with a paint color. Not having had any prior experience with this type of professional I decided to look into Angie's list for recommendations. after completing their registration form I was contacted by Ms Billings that same days and an appt was made for an appraisal that same week Agreements were made according to MY schedule and completed as promised. Amy was great! She is extremely professional and meticulous. We needed to repair a bad paint job and a bad paint color (my bad) in our guest bathroom. She worked tirelessly, and the final result is exactly what we wanted. It was unusual to find a woman painter, and her wonderfully calm and gentle personality, great eye, and incredible attention to detail was refreshing. Amy covered everything very well and cleaned up beautifully when she finished. I would definitely hire her again for any painting project we may have.

Wallpaper Removal
The did a great job in the allotted time they gave. However, it's hard for the professional to bid the complete job through repainting before the wallpaper is removed as they don't know what the installed used to attach the wallpaper. Understandable, bur I'd recommend getting an itemized bid with a best case scenario from wallpaper removal to wall repair afterward to painting so you can review the total cost start to finish.

"Thank you for the A rating, and also thank you that you will hire us again! Just wanted to add a note that we always discuss pricing in detail before starting the job. Also, we charge much less than others do for wallpaper removal. In this case, we removed SEVERAL rooms of wallpaper and also did the wall repair afterward for $1100, which is quite a bargain! I think sometimes people don't understand the amount of work that goes into wallpaper removal, especially when the walls aren't primed correctly, which was the case with this customer. (Of note, customer put cost as $1200, but it was actually $1100)."

Amy was great, she took care of both bathrooms that had streaks from a bad wallpaper removal and paint job from another painter. She was able to restore our wood floors that had some water damage. She was very professional and had job very clean when she left for the day. No body better in our opinion.

Amy was great. I bought a condo and had about three weeks to have some renovations done before moving in. I had thought it wouldn't need painting, but then I looked more closely after the closing and saw that it really DID need it. But with such a short time frame, I didn't know if it was possible. Amy was the first one I called, based on her super-high ratings here. She not only took the job, but said she could start *the very next day*! And she did! She had some other jobs that weren't time-sensitive, and she moved things around and worked longer hours to get mine done in the window of time that I had. She did that even though it ended up expanding to include a hall that I didn't originally intend (not Amy's fault--it was again a matter of starting to look more closely), *and* even though the paint I chose (100% my decision) was not covering well and required three coats instead of the usual two. What's more, she kept working even when the air conditioner conked out for 48 hours on the hottest week of the year! The results were **** near perfect; she really sweats the little details, and making sure everything ends up exactly the way the customer wants. I have no idea how her rates compare to others, because I was so deliriously happy to get somebody willing to start immediately that I didn't even bother getting other estimates. But given the work involved, the time pressure, the working conditions, the surprise expansions of the job, and the quality of the finished product, I don't feel overcharged one bit.

Amy was great. She filled the crack with caulk and "spackle"; I can see where the work was performed and it is so much better. I supplied the paint, and wish it had matched the old paint, but that is a hard thing to do. For sure, I would use Amy again.

It went very very well. Amy is a self-starter. She showed up in freezing weather to wallpaper a room in a new construction. And had to walk about a quarter mile to get to the house because the driveway was full of construction workers' vehicles!! She is a very pleasant lady and so easy to work with! She did an outstanding job and I've recommended her to my decorator, who saw her work and asked who I had used.

She did a good job. Probably, a little more care to detail. Basically she did a good job but I mean I'm a picky person. She could have done a little better in other areas. Other than that, she did what I wanted her to do--basically, just take the wallpaper off. She was very good on price.

"I'm sorry this customer thought my work was a B, especially since I always try to exceed my customer's expectations. I'm not sure why she made the statement about wishing I would have paid more attention to detail. I consider attention to detail to be my trademark! When you read the other reviews, you'll see they consistently talk about the quality of my work and attention to detail. Again, I'm sorry she felt I didn't meet her expectations. Perhaps she doesn't completely understand the wallpaper removal process, although I do explain it to customers. Again, please see my other customer's comments. They do describe the amount of attention to detail I always provide. It's just my nature - I wouldn't do it any other way!"

We are very satisfied with the services performed. Ms. Billings is very professional, on time and a hard worker. She did some drywall patching that is so good you can't even tell where it was done. She is very knowledgeable about paint. She brought everything she needed to do the job with her and cleaned everything up when she was done. We recommend her highly.

Excellent! Amy saved our bacon! We attempted to remove wallpaper ourselves. What a mistake. After several hours of trying to remove wallpaper (and damaging the sheetrock) we gave up and went to find a professional. We found Amy on Angie’s List and contacted her. She had a cancellation so could work us in immediately. Her work was outstanding. Her advice on how to proceed with the painting, such as the sequence of wall prep and types of primer to use to achieve what we want was also invaluable. Amy is very friendly and willing to answer questions. She has a vast trove of experience in painting, wallpapering and wall repair which she gladly shared with us. I would definitely recommend Amy for any type of painting, wallpapering, wallpaper removal or any other job she says she is qualified to do.

I gave Amy quite a challenge, using metallic paint, but Amy epitomizes the word professional and she met the assignment brilliantly. She has an amazing background in this profession and she has so much knowledge at her fingertips. The gold metallic paint I chose was really not what the color I thought it would be, but Amy turned what could have been a disaster into a work of art. I am so grateful to Angie's List and for Amy being on it.
Amy is patient, works quietly and thoroughly, cleans up wonderfully afterwards, puts the furniture back..and leaves joy, perfection, and top of the line accomplishments, and no mess or cleanup by the customer.
