While peel-and-stick wallpapers require no time to cure, the adhesives for other types of papers will take a day or two to dry and up to three weeks to fully cure. The differences are the type of paper, the type of adhesive, and the humidity and temperature in the space. 

Walls should be as smooth as possible before applying peel-and-stick wallpaper. Although you technically can apply wallpaper on textured walls, the peel-and-stick variety won’t last long without a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to. While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick.
