"The initial service was fine, and the quote seemed reasonable based on other quotes we received. They worked with us to find a door within my Mom's budget and to her liking. The workers were prompt and professional. One of the services we paid for was $125 to sand and paint her front door because she had some spots that were peeling. There was no sanding and after the first coat, you could still see the peeling spots. They advised a second coat would resolve it, which it appears to have, but there was no sanding, so we were overcharged. That is not the big issue. When the left on 2/28, the finish work was not completed, and there were some issues. There was caulk on the interior walls that was very obvious and on the exterior gray siding trim. We were told by the person doing the work that it would simply rub off when it dried. They had to take down a valance board, and advised they would put it back up when they came back because there was still wet paint. They had to come back anyway because the balancer they brought was the wrong one and they had to order one, which was no issue for us. After communicating with Aaron via text, I laid out all the concerns I had and he advised they would resolve when they came back. It was at that time that he indicated that they might need to use something to remove the caulk which might fade the paint and asked if we had paint for that room. I advised probably not since the paint was over 20 years ago. They came back on 3/15 to complete the job. I was advised that they could not remove the caulk because it would rip the drywall. I told them we did not have the paint. He went to the store and tried to match it, and did not test a spot first, but rather painted around the full doorframe inside and it does not match at all. Additionally he got the wall paint on the white trim around the door and on the floor moldings. He covered the screws, and used the exterior paint we had to paint that trim, but it is streaky and the screws still show. I spoke to Aaron at the office, advising it now looks worse than before and the job was not acceptable. He advised that they did the screws as a courtesy, and that is the home-owner's responsibility. Additionally, it was our responsibility to repaint the room, at our expense and that the caulk on the walls was a standard expectation. I spoke to one of the other contractors we had received a quote from who advised both statements were false. Aaron advised there was nothing the could do for us. They could repaint the full room, but it would be at our cost. I do not want them to do any other work in the house, and it is their poor workmanship that has caused this problem"

Window services FAQs

If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.

Window replacement can become costly, especially if you’re replacing your whole home. There are a few steps you can take to help save money on the bottom cost while still giving your windows a facelift.

  • Replace multiple windows at once to bundle your purchase

  • Inquire about discounts, coupons, or special offers

  • Consider window repair as soon as you see damage to help prevent the need for replacement

  • Maintain your windows often by inspecting your windows for drafts, leaks, and cracks

There are certain window repairs that are cost-effective to DIY and relatively simple for homeowners to tackle themselves. Tasks like replacing a screen, replacing a lock, or sealing a window are typically under $30 and take minimal time to do yourself. However, if you need to replace your window or repair a broken double pane, it’s best to call in a professional window replacement installer to lend a hand. Replacing the majority or all of the windows in your home is a time consuming job and best left to a professional.

Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.

The time it takes to replace a window is a total of four to 15 weeks. This time includes your initial consultation, appointments for measuring, as well as ordering and manufacturing your windows. For a smaller job, you can expect the total timeline to be on the shorter end, but for a whole house window replacement, it might take longer (or be split into multiple install appointments). Once your windows are created and ready to be installed, your window installer will take 30 to 60 minutes per window to install.
