"Michael., the owner of the company is very straightforward and have helped me what film I should have on my every and each window. I have windows on the west, east and south, and they big. Michael has told me that some window shall have darker or lighter film and why. He arrived to do the job on time and he called upon his arrival. Windows looks great and the film is thick and good quality. He measured every and each window and took time to make sure that his job is excellent ð . Very nice person and respectful. Answered all my questions as well."

Windows questions, answered by experts

The material around a window is simply called the window frame, but the individual pieces also have different names. The top portion of the frame is called the head, the side pieces are called jambs, and the bottom portion is called the sill. If you have multiple windows next to each other, you’ll also have a mullion, which is the frame piece that separates the individual windows. Windows stacked on top of each other are separated by a horizontal frame piece, which is called a transom.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Yes, energy-efficient windows really can make a difference. As long as energy-efficient windows are properly installed and maintained, they can reduce your energy bill and offer significant savings.

On average, hurricane windows last between 20 and 30 years. But some windows only last 10 years, while others can last 50 years or longer. Vinyl hurricane windows have a shorter lifespan than aluminum, so invest in high-quality hurricane windows and properly maintain them to get the most out of your investment.

Your new windows may let in more noise than your old windows because they are not the right size or they were installed improperly. Improper installation, or choosing windows that are too small for the opening, can create gaps around the window that let in noise.

Another factor could be the STC and OITC ratings. If your new windows have lower ratings than your old windows, this means they have lower performance when it comes to dampening noise from the outdoors.
