"The answering service girl was very nice but the process was kinda annoying. I could have called 5 + people by the time I was able to get one recommendation through this company. My job involves time sensitivity and this business did not help. Again the girl that helped me did all she could and was super polite. Thanks for your concern. Please take me off the email list. Thank you."

"My experience with Matrix Restoration was phenomenal. Daniel is truly a professional in this field. Living in Florida, you hear about the horrors of mold but never take it seriously, until your home is impacted by it. If you’re online searching for mold remediation, then I am talking to you. Don’t waste your money or time with other companies. Getting rid of mold is not an easy task. I spent a lot of money with wrong companies and got nowhere. Bottom line, if you want to save your home and belongings - this is the company to call. Daniel and his team are true professionals. He’s intelligent, punctual, reliable, thorough, honest and a complete Pro. Highly recommend Matrix Restoration. A+ Bolivar J"

Small jobs welcome

"I needed to find a mold-remediation company to get rid of mold inside a hallway closet, so I decided to use Home Advisor by Angie. I had hardly finished setting up my request online when I received a call-back from Mario Alvarez, owner of ACE Services. The very next day, he came to my house, analyzed the issue and the cause, and gave me a verbal quote. That evening, I had a written proposal including his FL Licenses as Mold Assessor/Remediator and Asbestos Contractor. One week later he came to do the job in a punctual, professional, and safe manner and my closet looks clean and mold-less! If you need an experienced, knowledgeable, and personable mold-removal professional who prioritizes safety and neatness, Mario Alvarez is your man! Plus, he speaks perfect English and Spanish!"

"It went great! My first time remodeling. It went fairly smooth given my 32 yo home and it turned out beautifully. I supplied most of the materials and SBS supplied knowledgeable, skilled and professional tradesmen. They were always on time and were very respectful of my home. My job was small, but tedious. SBS was patient amd accommodating. SBS may soon remodel my master bathroom and my garage including painting the garage floor! I'm a VERY happy SBS customer. Thumbs up :)"

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

Some pros may recommend covering a popcorn ceiling that tests positive for asbestos with beadboard ceiling planks or drywall. The cost to install a beadboard ceiling averages more than $5,000, but you likely will pay more than the average for the installer to deal with the asbestos safely. Installing a beadboard ceiling or new drywall will disturb the asbestos and release some microscopic fibers, so the installer will need to take precautions.

According to the National Cancer Institute, asbestos-related diseases can take anywhere from 10 to 40 years for symptoms to appear. The health risks increase with prolonged and heavier exposure. Risk factors also include:

  • Amount of exposure

  • Chemical makeup, size, and shape of the asbestos fibers

  • Length of time a person is exposed to asbestos

  • Genetic factors

  • Source of exposure (direct exposure or secondhand exposure from someone directly exposed)

You can cover asbestos siding with another type of siding, such as vinyl, however, this may not be the best option. Covering the asbestos siding may disturb it, releasing fibers into the air. The covered siding can also be disturbed at a later date, such as by a new homeowner who is unaware of its presence.

If you decide to cover the siding, be sure to work with a professional and follow any local building codes and requirements. It may be the case that removing the asbestos siding is the better option, rather than covering it over.

It is not recommended to drill into asbestos siding because doing so can release hazardous asbestos fibers into the air. The safest way to handle asbestos-containing materials is to have a professional remove or encapsulate them.

Power washing asbestos siding can be hazardous and isn't recommended. The power washer's high pressure can disturb the siding and release harmful asbestos fibers into the air. Rather than attempting to DIY it, hire a professional trained in asbestos handling to tackle any exterior cleaning.
