Small jobs welcome

"Friendly and professional, the job was completed in a timely manner and what they did was explained and pointed out (strapping the water line etc). They cleaned up after the job was completed and left everything in very good condition."

"He did a smoke test free of charge, which was good. I did feel the prices were on the high side and the person who came out took a high pressure sales approach for hydro cleaning. I felt like if I had not been diligent about asking questions I would have signed up for a service that I did not need."

"Great Effort. Steve worked with me on price, and was there early and late to get things done, jumping to it when the inevitable monkey-wrenches occurred (remodeled both bathrooms in a house built in the 1950’s). I’ve got some pictures up—it’ll look even better as soon as I get the paint on the walls (I hadn’t settled on a color during the work). I’m very happy with my new bathrooms. Thanks Steve!"

"On time, called me ahead of time and listened to what I needed done, showed up on time with everything he needed to complete the job. I need a propane tank secured to the side of the house and plumbed from there to the gas stove in my kitchen. Kitchen located in the middle of the home so he had to run the gas line into the attic and down the inside of the kitchen wall and then thru the sheet rock behind my new stove. Wonderful job from start to finish. Very polite, professional. He was clean and tidy. I wouldn t have known he was there. He tested the stove before he left and said to call if we had any problems at all. I definitely recommend Gods Gas Service LLC for any work you need done related to propane and natural gas. Five stars"

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos is absolutely cancerous. In fact, around 4% of all lung cancer cases are the result of asbestos exposure. This is why we recommend a full, professional removal and cleaning of any asbestos found in your home. If you are unsure whether there is any present, you should call a pro who will inspect your property.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

No, not all popcorn ceilings have asbestos, but a vast majority do. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned its use in 1973, although it still may have been used up through the early ‘90s. But, in general, homes built or remodeled before the early ‘80s likely utilized materials with asbestos. That being said, a professional test is the only way to determine for sure.

Asbestos was most commonly produced and integrated into building products from the 1920s to the late 1980s. In reality, asbestos use should have ceased much sooner because asbestos was linked to cancer in studies produced as early as the 1950s. You can even extend that number past the 1980s due to stockpiled materials and because some countries treat asbestos use differently. It may also be found more in commercial applications than residential.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.
