"I had the pleasure of working with Salto Angel Insulation for an attic insulation installation, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results! From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the experience was seamless and professional. The team arrived on time and was incredibly respectful of my home. They took the time to explain the insulation options available, discussing the benefits of each type and helping me choose the best fit for my needs. Their knowledge and expertise were evident, making me feel confident in my decision. During the installation, the crew worked efficiently and carefully, ensuring that every corner of my attic was properly insulated. They were meticulous in their approach, taking care to clean up after themselves and leaving the space in pristine condition. It was evident that they take great pride in their work. Not only has the insulation made a noticeable difference in regulating the temperature in my home, but I also expect to see significant savings on my energy bills moving forward. It’s a relief to know that I’ve made an investment that will pay off in the long run. Overall, I highly recommend Salto Angel Insulation for attic insulation installation. "Attic Fanatics did an outstanding job from start to finish! The team was professional, punctual, and explained every step of the process clearly. They removed the old insulation, sanitized, sealed air leaks, and then installed new insulation — everything was done with attention to detail and care for our home. What impressed me most was how clean they left the job site and how much cooler and more comfortable our home feels now. They even shared before-and-after photos so we could see the difference in our attic. It’s rare to find a contractor that goes above and beyond like this. I would highly recommend Attic Fanatics to anyone looking for attic insulation or ductwork — you won’t be disappointed!"

"Excellent company! We are very satisfied. We have lived in our south Florida house for 25 years. This is our 3rd AC. We were told by the other AC people that it was not possible to get the temperatre to 75 degrees in the heat of summer, in the middle of the day. So, for 25 years we have lived in AC that rose to 82 degrees in the summer. NOT ANYMORE! Comfort zone gave our home the correct sized AC and replaced our old ductwork and gave us better insulation for the attic. Like anything, there were issues that came up like one room did not get the suficient airflow and wasn't getting as cool as the rest of the house. Chris and his team fixed it immediately. Every single issue we had Comfort Zone handled it professionally, quickly and had a great attitude to help us and make sure we were completely satisfied. The best part was they ALWAYS solved the issue. We are very happy that we had our AC installed by Comfort Zone. Chris and the whole team were great. Knowing that we now have a relationship with a company that will be with us for a long time is very comforting. The picture says it all. That is at 2:15 in the afternoon at 90+ degrees outside."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Vapor barriers in attics are a bit outdated and most areas no longer recommend them for attic spaces. For vented attics, the best method is usually to install drywall and cover it with latex paint before attaching insulation fiberglass, cellulose, or foam insulation. When renovating an attic to use as a living space, a contractor can guide you on the best way to cover insulation.

The R-value is a rating that measures an insulation's thermal resistance—in other words, how well it insulates. A higher R-value provides more protection for your pipes, and all pipe insulation materials should have an R-value listed on the product description or label. Each insulation type has its own R-value, which typically falls between one and five for most pipe insulation. When making a selection, Energy.gov recommends choosing a pipe wrap that is at least one inch thick, and the International Code Council (ICC) suggests choosing a material with an R-value of at least 3.

Yes, cold walls are a common indicator of poor or inadequate insulation, especially if the walls feel significantly colder than the air in the room. This suggests that heat from your furnace is escaping rather than being retained. The issue could be that the walls have no insulation, or that the existing insulation is old or has been damaged by water, moisture, or pests. Your best course of action is to hire a professional to investigate. An insulation contractor can determine if you need to add or replace insulation and can often perform the work without creating large holes in your drywall. If you suspect the problem might also be related to your heating system's performance, an HVAC technician can take a closer look.

If the temperature outside is around 90 or 100 degrees with the sun beating on your home’s roof, it’s common for the attic temperature to reach 150 degrees or more. This excessive heat shows the importance of having a radiant barrier in place along with insulation. The radiant barrier reflects the heat entering the attic back upward, keeping your home’s temperature more consistent.

Yes, exposure to fiberglass insulation can cause harm to your skin and eyes. However, this typically refers to the fiberglass insulation that is mostly used in walls and attics. Fiberglass doors don’t pose risks for fiberglass exposure because they're fully encased in polymer cladding.
