Customers say: True professional

"Spencer was Very courteous, did a Great job. Very neat with the cleanup had to move a bench and moved it back. after the one stump was ground. Other stump was cleanup only and remove some of the wood chips. Very cautious with concrete areas. Put down plywood for protection on concrete and plants. I will always call Mr. Stump."

"We had a huge amount of trees, brush, roots and bushes to be removed from our front yard today in Alligator Point FL. We have been looking for someone that can cut trees, remove very deep roots, and have the proper equipment to do it. We also were looking for someone that is responsible, return phone calls and show up when they are supposed to since we had some bad experiences with other contractors. We are happy to say that Stephen Porter met all our requests. He is professional, respectful, his prices are good, and he answers and returns phone calls on time. He came and gave us an estimate and a week later the job is done. He is very meticulous, has attention to detail, leveled and cleaned everything perfectly! If you need someone, he is the one. Stephen Porter 850-519-3965. We strongly recommend him!"

"The RELIABLE name suits them, as they arrived on time and did excellent work in completing the project agreed upon, and for a reasonable price. I was both impressed and surprised at the professional and friendly-ness of there team --- a quality you don't find much these days. I am planning another project and RELIABLE TREE & LANDSCAPE SOLUTIONS will be the company I call."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

It is good to spray water on a Christmas tree to help keep the needles hydrated. Spraying a Christmas tree with water prevents dryness, stops needles from falling off, and reduces the risk of fire.

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

  • Unhealthy palm trees attract pests, diseases, and fungi

  • Dead falling fronds can cause severe injury or damage to your home, pedestrians, or cars

  • Dead palm branches are flammable and can catch fire, especially during a lightning storm

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.

Trees provide many benefits, including shade, habitat for local wildlife, and cleaner air, so it’s always a good idea to try an alternative strategy like crown reduction before you chop one down. But sometimes, cutting down a tree is the only option (like if it’s severely diseased). A licensed arborist can assess the tree and recommend the best course of action.
