"Antonio and his crew very professional. They showed up each day on time. After they finished for the day they left the job site clean and safe and always secured my fence. They safely removed 10 trees from my property One of them was about 80 to 90 feet tall and was in the back corner of my yard and surrounded by two outbuildings and three other houses. Antonio Climbed and topped the tree in sections without damage to any of the outlying properties or buildings. I would recommend him for any tree surgeon work."

"Stan showed up at the scheduled appointment time and reviewed the trees and large tree limbs that I needed removed. He provided a detailed written estimate the following day. His quote was very reasonable and lower than 2 others I got. Started the job promptly, was very polite, and didn't nit-pick me about small additions once the work started. He and his crew worked hard and did a great job. No damage to lawn or surrounding shrubs. Highly recommend Arbor Aerial for tree removal and pruning."

"8/14/24 I found Eric, owner of WC Landscaping and Tree Removal off Angi, called him, he called right back, told him what I needed, we met that afternoon and he gave me a VERY reasonable price to cut down trees in my yard/haul away the debris and remove a stump. He was very responsive to my questions and they got started right away. Eric and his family run this business and I was totally impressed with Eric and everyone in his company, they are very polite and knowledgeable and you could not ask for a more professional, reliable, helpful, friendly group. I would highly recommend Eric and his team for all of your yard servicing needs. Great Job guys! Keep up the good work."

"They were very courteous and professional. The work we requested was completed beyond our expectations. They are very knowledgeable and didn’t mind answering our questions. The price we were quoted was very fair for the work we had done. They were prompt and efficient. All debris was cleaned up before they left. We will definitely use this company again in the future and recommend them to others needing expert tree services."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.
