"I cannot recommend this company. We called hydroscout out to our home to help with detecting a leak. I will say the technician that came out was very professional and thorough. Our leak was so small that its location could not be pinpointed so the technician recommended coming out again in a couple weeks. The main office / management scheduled a follow up session at my house for 2 weeks later, in fact I have a voicemail confirming the date. The morning of the scheduled follow-up appointment I called to verify I was still on the schedule. Much to my surprise my appointment had inexplicably been cancelled. This was a huge inconvenience as I shuffled my work week. Very disappointed in the poor management and customer service. Needless to say I am going with another reputable company in the area."

A few factors determine the amount of time it takes to convert from an oil to a gas furnace, mainly adding in the gas lines, updating your appliances, removing the old oil system, and installing a chimney line. These projects can vary, but you should expect them to take at least two or three days to complete.

Shut-off valves, like any other piece of metal hardware, can corrode, age, get worn down, and eventually break or rust into place. Occasionally spray your shut-off valve with WD-40 to stall it from rusting. Any gas pipe can leak, especially if it’s old or isn’t properly maintained. However, even with a shovel, plastic pipes are more easily damaged by impact.
