"Very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Inspected the doors, explained what needed to be done and the estimate. No pressure tactics at all to do the work, and fair in pricing. I would hire again, and plan to use for any garage door, sliding door and window repair."

"I am beyond happy with the creative solution and craftsmanship provided by Kevin to repair and tile my bathtub wall. I found Kevin on Angi’s after a plumbing fix left a hole in my wall and another service attempted to fix it and failed. Kevin listened and proposed a couple of options to meet my budget and fear that any type of repair would look like a patch job in my 1960’s mosaic tile bathroom. He selected tile options that, now installed, look like an accent wall instead of a quick fix to cover a hole. Thank you, Kevin, for your professionalism and a solution that surpassed all expectations."

"Jude promptly contacted me and made an appointment for the repair. He came at the appointment time, checked my door and knew how to fix it. His work was very thorough and professional. He did not take any short cuts but worked diligently until the work was done. I am very pleased with my experience and the work."

"My project was a front door that needed quite a bit of repairs. Nahoom showed up on time, was very detailed as to how he would repair it and the materials involved, including matching paint. He did a superb job. The door is even better than before it was broken. The result exceeded my expectations."

"Alex did an outstanding job installing two motors for my hurricane shutters. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked hard from start to finish. The installation was done carefully, everything works perfectly, and he made sure the job was completed the right way. His pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of his work. It’s hard to find someone who is both honest and reliable these days, and Alex exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for hurricane shutter installation or repairs. Thank you for a job well done!"

"Excellent experience overall from the sales representative (Danny), installers and general office employees. The windows/doors look amazing and are of high quality. Frank (and his assistant (installers) were extremely professional, punctual and made sure that the area was cleaned thoroughly before leaving each day. I would highly recommend ASP to family and friends. Their expertise and professionalism from day 1 is definitely a peace of mind when it comes to such a large investment in a home. Thank you ASP, we are so happy with our windows/doors!"

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, door hinges can sag over time. This usually happens due to things like repeated use, loose screws, worn hinge pins, or the door's weight pulling on the frame. When hinges sag, you'll often notice the door sticking, dragging, or not latching properly. Tightening the screws or replacing worn parts can usually help to realign the door.

Lock picking is a relatively subtle method of unauthorized access, making it hard to detect. But there are telltale signs to look for. First, look for scratches or tool marks around the keyhole or the lock's surface. Also, check for loose or misaligned components, like a wonky strike plate, which could indicate tampering. Consulting a locksmith or security professional for an assessment can provide valuable insights, too. Investing in high-quality locks and considering additional security measures, like security cameras, can help deter potential intruders and enhance your overall safety.

Interior door thresholds are usually attached using finish nails, and some contractors will also use construction adhesive under the threshold to hold it in place. Exterior door thresholds are more commonly screwed to prevent them from pulling up when people step on the raised edge on the outside of the door. Exterior doors also include caulk sealant on the inside to prevent water and air from seeping through.

Yes, it is essential that you perform bi-annual maintenance on your bifold doors. This means checking the hardware, cleaning the door and the tracks, and lubricating the locks. Most of this work can be done on your own, but if you wish for a more thorough inspection, you should call in a professional door repair company.

To tighten a doorknob without visible screws, you first need to remove the rose mounting plate, which is a decorative covering that hides the mounting bolts. You might need to loosen a set screw to get this off, but others just pry off. Once you pull it off, release the lever underneath, and your knob and mounting plate should come fully off, revealing the mounting bolts. Tighten these before reassembling.
