"Good Services Solutions did a fantastic job with my sliding glass door. I thought I was calling them for a lock repair, but once they saw the door, they showed me how the lock was fine and the problem was the door track. The took the door apart, cleaned it, replaced the broken parts, and put it all back together. They didn't try to up-sell me a full door replacement, they just fixed it and made it work great. So glad I went with them!"

"Nahoom responded immediately within minutes and was able to finish the job the same day. He knew what to fix on door that was not closing properly and replace the door handle. He explained to me what he was going to do and had patience doing so. Prices are reasonable."

"Very good experience. Alex was quick to respond, came to the house on time, and quickly diagnosed the problem with my roll-down hurricane shutters. Quality of work was great, and the price of repair was reasonable. Alex was also able to repair metal shutter anchors that had come lose over the years."

"Excellent experience overall from the sales representative (Danny), installers and general office employees. The windows/doors look amazing and are of high quality. Frank (and his assistant (installers) were extremely professional, punctual and made sure that the area was cleaned thoroughly before leaving each day. I would highly recommend ASP to family and friends. Their expertise and professionalism from day 1 is definitely a peace of mind when it comes to such a large investment in a home. Thank you ASP, we are so happy with our windows/doors!"

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

It's not uncommon for the thermal seal of double-paned windows to break down, but the repair is best left to professionals. The cost to repair a window's broken seal ranges from $70 to $120.

The cost of door repair is $235 on average but can range from $50 to $685 or more. Cost factors like the door type, door material, the amount of damage, and your geographic location all play an important role in the project price.

Exterior doors, like solid wood or steel doors, tend to cost more to repair, ranging from $350 to $1,050 on average. Interior doors tend to be hollow and, therefore, less costly to repair. You can expect an interior door to cost between $350 and $650 to repair.

Yes, many professional services handle high-security and fire-rated door repairs, ensuring compliance with building codes.

The decision to repair or replace a door depends on several factors, including the extent of the damage, the cost of the repair, and whether it's an interior or exterior door. A repair is often the best route for minor issues, such as problems with hardware like locks or hinges. However, for more significant damage—like a large hole, damage near the hardware, or any issue that prevents the door from closing or locking properly—replacement is a better investment, as these problems can compromise your home's security. It's also useful to consider the door's location. Damage to interior doors typically doesn't threaten security, so a repair or partial replacement can be a good way to save money. For exterior doors, damage can be a security risk, making a full replacement the safer option, especially if the door frame is also damaged. To determine the best course of action for your specific situation and budget, it is recommended to consult a door repair specialist or installer.

Most of the time, constant use will loosen the mounting screws on your doorknob and cause it to loosen away from the door. While this can be annoying, the solution is quick and simple. If you have exposed mounting bolts, simply tighten them with a screwdriver, being sure not to overtighten and bind up the turning mechanism. For doorknobs without visible mounting bolts, first pry off the rose mounting plate or unscrew the set screw before removing it.
