"It went great. They have been the best experience I've ever had with a moving. Vincent is my absolute go-to-guy. I've used him for local and out of state service. If things change, he and his team are flexible and adoptable. They are not the kind of organization that has a name on a big shiny truck, but you can count on them any time . They are dependable. I've called quite a few people, and Vincent always calls me back quickly. And he does what he says."

"It was difficult getting some of the items to the third floor, but the guys did a great job; Some of the furniture got scratched, but overall it was very good. I was impressed that the manager stayed through most of the move to keep an eye on the workers, and make sure I was satisfied. I could tell , he really wanted to make sure the customer was satisfied."

"They are punctual, reliable and careful and accommodating. Ed impressed me the first job they did for me two or three years ago and I have used them exclusively for many moves ever since. He gives careful instruction to those working with him to make sure pieces are lifted correctly and soundly. He is calm and encouraging to those around him and is most helpful to me when scheduling things. He is responsive via phone or text. He works hard to make sure he understands what the client wants/needs and is satisfied before wrapping up a job. Allsouth does moves in Mobile and Baldwin county.... and perhaps other areas as well. Price is very reasonable and a good value. If you need someone with their own moving vehicle, find a different company since at this time they don't have a truck. However, I've always driven my own trucks or pulled trailers. Allsouth shows up in their own vehicle and drives to each location in the move. That actually makes Allsouth's costs more reasonable. I highly recommend Allsouth Movers and suggest them to friends and family."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, there are sometimes hidden costs when hiring a moving company. These can include fees for packing, handling, and assembling specific large items, fees for packing materials used, and charges for trips over a certain mileage. To avoid hidden fees, always request a detailed quote before booking or paying a deposit.

Yes, moving a piano often causes it to become out of tune, even if you're not moving the piano very far. One reason is that any temperature and humidity changes can affect a piano's tuning. Additionally, the bumps and jolts from a moving truck usually push a piano out of tune.

However, don't jump right to tuning it once the piano gets to your new home. Instead, it's best to wait at least two weeks for the instrument to acclimate to its new environment. After a couple weeks, you'll get an idea of what the piano will really sound like in its new home, at which point you can call a piano technician to get it properly tuned.

To make sure that your moving quote is fair, check current prices for hiring movers in your area. Your starting and final locations can affect the price. You should also make sure you include the cost of any specialty movers in your price estimate. Calculate your moving costs including the estimated expense of moving services and compare the figure to average costs in your area.

No, homeowners insurance does not typically cover moving expenses. Homeowners insurance provides coverage and pay-outs if you experience damage to the home you currently live in. You’ll need to save separately for moving expenses like hiring movers, renting a tow truck, or shipping your belongings.

Before hiring a moving company to help you with your move, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Is there anything your company won’t move?

  • Does workers’ compensation cover the crew?

  • Will you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?

  • Are there packing restrictions?

  • Can you guarantee my delivery date?

  • Can you provide references?

  • What do you charge extra for?

  • What is your cancellation policy?
