"Francisco made sure that not only was the awning installed and set up correctly, but made sure that it was secure and safe. He went out of his way spending the entire day making sure the awning was a secure is it could possibly be."

"I forgot how I found National Awning (Angies List or HomeAdvisor....I guess it was HomeAdvisor now). Leonard came over to my home right away to give me an estimate on a replacement vinyl awning for my carport. I was thinking of going with solution dyed acrylic instead of vinyl as I've had vinyl for about 20 years and wanted to try something different. Several other companies also came out and gave me prices competitive with those of National Awning or even way cheaper. I got the best vibes from Leonard and decided to go with National Awning. We settled on a Sauleda solution dyed acrylic awning material (comparable to Sunbrella). It was more expensive than vinyl, but it was not an enormous difference. Leonard's installers came out and removed my old ripped up vinyl awning and installed the new one very quickly. I was a teenie tiny bit worried after Leonard initially measured my existing carport because he did it SO quickly, but the replacement awning fits perfectly and looks beautiful. It is apparent that Leonard has been doing this for a long time."

"We changed all our old Windows and doors for hurricane Windows. Total of 19 units. Overall the sales team (Jerry) and custom et service were nice and efficient. The team who installed the windows was really nice to have around. They did a very good job, especially considering the condition of our old house and the various strange window openings we had there. The result is really nice and our house is really different and a hundred times better. The pice was more or less the same of the competitors ; we just felt we were in the hand of more serious, responsive and reliable people and we were right."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Clean regularly with mild soap and water, and retract during severe weather to prevent damage.

If you're handy, it might be worth trying to install retractable awnings yourself. Just keep in mind that motorized retractable awnings require much more know-how, and the risk of something costly going wrong (such as damaging your new awnings) is higher.

Mechanical awnings should be easy to install for the average person with some handyman skills.

It’s not a good idea to allow heavy rain to fall on your awning, as puddling can occur and overload the awning. Your awning should be able to handle a light rain, though you should allow it to dry out before retracting it or open it to dry as soon as the rain stops. As always, consult manufacturer guidelines for using and caring for your awning.

Costs depend on material type, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or gutters.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.
