"Samuel and José did a fantastic job on a very difficult project. Another Plumber had totally screwed up and left me hanging, but José and Samuel fixed the problem completely, even though they had to break open the wall and get to the weldable portion of the pipe. I highly recommend them!"

"What a wonderful experience. Plumbers Are like going to a dentist; they can be scary and over priced but these guys changed the status quo. They were very friendly and quick to respond even as 7 am! They were flexible and willing to work around my 9-5 schedule without overcharging after five. They gotta drain unclogged quick and efficiently. Private companies are the way to go when it comes to service. I will go to them any time I have an issue. Not to mention best rates!!!! Good job team!!! :)"

"Excellent work. By Code gave me an estimate to remove and replace my 50 gallon water heater for $1454.00 on Saturday over the phone, then replaced it on Sunday the following day with 2 expert plumbers. They are best and most honest and efficient plumbers in Miami. I highly recommend them and will hire them again for all my plumbing needs."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

While you may have some water, it's best to wait until after the repair is complete to use your home's pipes. For one thing, the water pressure will most likely be greatly reduced, leading to a less-than-intense shower. There's also the risk of contamination from dirt and bacteria that can enter the broken water main pipe. In many cases, a pro will turn off the flow of water from your water main to do the repairs, so showering won’t likely be an option.

You’ll have to look around the house to find different sources of a hidden leak. Check for water under the sinks in the kitchen, bathrooms, and utility rooms. Look at your bathtubs, showers, and toilets, including inside the toilet tanks. Puddles can form around your water heater, so take a good look around it. Inspect appliances like your washer, dishwasher, and refrigerator as well. Look for stains on the walls and ceilings, and listen for drips and running water.

Yes, you can fill your toilet tank manually to help it flush, or you can pour the water directly into the bowl to flush it manually. This will work for the majority of toilets, as most use a gravity feed system. However, you should only ever use this as a temporary solution. If your toilet tank isn’t filling, you should find out why. First, make sure the speedy valve connected to your toilet and your water main are open. If that doesn’t solve the issue, call in a professional to address the problem.

While replacing an outdoor spigot is a fairly straightforward job that often takes less than an hour, it’s not a DIY-friendly task—even if you have basic plumbing experience. Depending on your home’s plumbing setup, you may need to access pipes in your walls or underneath your home. Plus, if you have copper pipes, you might have to solder them. For all of these reasons, we recommend hiring a knowledgeable local plumber to replace a hose bib.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.
