"Alex and the team at Quintessential Renovations were great from the first time we met them. Alex showed up promptly to give us a quote and, unlike the 3 other companies we met with. Gave us an estimate with a breakdown of costs in addition to spending time upfront to explain what needed to be done, and what his crew would handle. The Quintessential team tackled the permitting process (even for the drain tile work performed by another company), complete tear out of the finished basement down to concrete, and the rebuild. Scheduling was complex due to the multi-step process and our request for time to make sure the drain tile repair worked through the spring rains, but Alex made it all work perfectly. The entire team of guys was amazing to work with and went out of their way to ensure our comfort with what they were doing and our satisfaction with the work. They kept the rest of the house clean, and always cleaned up carefully when they left. I have never seen the attention to detail with cleaning displayed by this crew. They went above and beyond helping to move things back into the remodeled space. They turned our dark and musty basement into space we want to spend time in and will actually enjoy using ourselves, and entertaining guests while remaining very close to the quoted price. Absolutely incredible transformation."

"Excellent. Davide and his crew are true professional. They did everything they said they would do and finished when they said they would. I couldn't be happier with their service and will be using them again for other projects as I go through remodeling this condo."

"We enjoyed working with Bradford Interiors on this remodel for our home. Charles was able to take our vision for the mother in law unit and make it into reality. We are very pleased with the outcome."
The Gignacs selected both white Shaker cabinets with quartz and premium stone for the the gray cabinet island that I put together using

"They are excellent! They were here on time, went right to work and made sure everything was working properly before they left. They also made sure that every piece of lint or fuzz was cleaned up and left spotless."

"The entire process was exceptional! Cisco was clear and concise about scope and price of project and remodel was virtually seamless. The entire team presented themselves professionally and not only did a good job with the remodeling aspects, but kept everything cleaned up during and after the job. I highly recommend this company for your remodeling needs."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

A finished basement does not always count as square footage, as this varies by state regulations. In areas that allow below-grade spaces to be included in a home's official square footage, the basement must typically meet certain conditions. These conditions often include having a functional egress and being a livable space with flooring, finished walls, and temperature control. To be certain, contact your local assessor to confirm your area's specific policies regarding basement square footage.

Yes, in most cases, finishing a basement is worth the cost. The project adds valuable, usable square footage to your home and typically provides a return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 75%. For example, an average basement refinishing project costing $32,000 could add between $22,400 and $24,000 to your property's value. The final value added depends on factors like your location, the quality of materials and workmanship, and the features you include, such as a living space, bedroom, or bathroom. To be officially counted in your home's total square footage, the finished space must comply with all local building codes, including requirements for points of egress. However, in areas prone to flooding, a finished basement might be seen as a liability by potential buyers and could potentially decrease your home's value.

Key trends include home gyms, theatre rooms, additional rooms (bedroom/office), and more, with personalized styles reflecting individual preferences.

Adding a bathroom to your basement can increase your home value since homes with multiple bathrooms sell for more. The return on investment (ROI) for a basement bathroom is 50% to 75%. The actual return varies with your home and location. Adding a half bath to your home increases the value by 2.9% while finishing a basement increases the home value by 6.6%.

Walkout basements cost more than other kinds of basements, and can also increase your risk of leaks as well as a loss of insulation, leading to higher heating and cooling costs. Improperly installed walkout basements may lead to structural issues with your foundation, so ensure you’re working with a contractor who has extensive experience with this kind of basement.
