"A few years ago, I made the mistake of doing one of those store bought epoxy kits. Don’t make the same mistake, it doesn’t last and doesn’t look anywhere near as good as a professional job. These guys are truly the best in the business. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Their price was fair and the product is awesome! Wish I could attach pics, but all my pics are too large to post."

"Prestige Garage Solutions did an excellent job on our garage floors! Drew & Julia drove over an hour to inspect our garage so they were able to give a fair and honest quote, got us scheduled in a timely manner, and followed through with quality work. Our garage floor was uneven and needed extra time spent, and Drew made sure it was done to the best of his ability. The color choices were endless, finished with a gloss coat it made our garage look better than we could have imagined. I would recommend this company to anyone who asked, it’s hard to find honest work and Prestige got the job done. Thank you Drew & Julia for all you did!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Evenly wetting a wood floor before applying a stain is called water popping. It raises the grain and opens the wood’s pores to absorb more stain. When done properly, it can make the stain look darker and deeper. However, it’s important to evenly wet the floor and let it dry before applying the stain.

With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

Epoxy tends to be the most durable concrete finish, holding up on garage and shop floors for years. Epoxy seals the slab's surface, will run into any cracks and crevices, and can help to level the surface, so it tends to be a durable finish for most applications. The downside to epoxy is that it can be difficult to remove once applied.

No, you cannot permanently seal concrete. The porous nature of concrete means that it’s always vulnerable to water intrusion and staining, even under the best sealants. Although some concrete sealing products can last for a long time, a genuinely permanent concrete seal remains elusive.

While there is a lot to like when it comes to epoxy flooring, there are some disadvantages for you to consider. For one, this flooring gets very slippery when wet, which means that it might not be the best option for homes with young children and older adults. Using an anti-slip coating can help.

Also, the installation period requires a long curing time of several days. Wet epoxy also releases strong smells during this curing period, which requires proper ventilation and safety gear.
