"Apex armor did an amazing job on our garage floor. From my first call to the finished project they were very easy to communicate with and exceeded expectations. They even removed the garage belongings and put them back. The floor looks amazing and completed in 24 hours. I highly recommend Apex Armor!"

"Mr. Hoff and crew handled a complete interior project involving caulking, painting of ceilings, doors, cabinets, built-ins, trim, and walls. Several walls required additional prep work involving wallpaper, multiple coats to cover extremely dark 'accent' walls. Mr. Hoff advised me regarding paint selection, etc. This crew arrived as scheduled, interacted respectfully with the homeowner, and demonstrated admirable skills. Already spoken with Mr. Hoff regarding several unrelated household projects, all of which he can manage. If he's unable to address a project, he'll say so."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

You can paint concrete with paint rollers. In fact, using paint rollers is considered one of the easiest ways to evenly apply paint on concrete. A paint roller with a 1/2- to 3/4-inch-thick nap—which is basically a fabric paint roller cover—is best for painting concrete. The thicker the nap, the more paint it can hold to fill those pesky concrete cracks and crevices.

Apply two coats of paint to a garage floor after priming for optimal results. The first coat serves as a base layer, providing adhesion and coverage. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly before applying the second coat, typically after 12 to 24 hours. The second coat ensures even coverage and durability and enhances the floor's appearance. Additionally, applying two coats helps to create a more substantial barrier against stains, chemicals, and wear and tear, resulting in a longer-lasting finish.

While concrete is durable, it’s also a porous material, meaning that spills can damage the material. Not only does sealing safeguard against this issue, but it can also reduce the risk of mold and mildew.

Unlike staining concrete, painting concrete often results in chips and peeling over time. You can expect numerous touchups over the years if the concrete is in a high-traffic area. Since concrete paints are opaque, you may also find it more difficult to get the exact color results you want. Lastly, painting concrete can make it much more slippery unless you mix in an additive for traction.

Epoxy tends to be the most durable concrete finish, holding up on garage and shop floors for years. Epoxy seals the slab's surface, will run into any cracks and crevices, and can help to level the surface, so it tends to be a durable finish for most applications. The downside to epoxy is that it can be difficult to remove once applied.
