"I had an outstanding experience with Tailored Builders from start to finish. They built my home with exceptional craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to every detail. Throughout the entire process, the team listened carefully to my ideas and preferences, making sure every request was understood and implemented with care. Their communication was excellent, they were always responsive, and they genuinely cared about delivering the best possible result. The quality of the workmanship exceeded my expectations, and it's clear they take great pride in what they do. Building a home can be stressful, but Tailored Builders made the experience smooth and enjoyable. I couldn't be happier with my new home and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a builder who values quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Everything was done better than we ever imagined. Tub was taken out of guest bath and a beautiful tile, rimless glass shower door installed, beautiful rain shower, etc. Master bath had corner tub, removed, added stand alone soaker tub, all travertine walk-in shower, window added. Kitchen is a dream!! His idea of crown molding really made the place "pop". We are snow birds, and when we leave for the season I always think of more things I want him to do. He never disappoints!!! He's not just our contractor, he has become a friend."

"I recently had my drive way improved by Strange & Strange construction. All my asked requirements were dealt with. My previous drive way held water, after the job was completed it looked amazing. They left the driveway leveled and smooth. The work was completed on time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone."

"Josh and his crew have completed 2 jobs in our condo and we are very pleased with the work and their professionalism. The first job was installing shiplap in my living room and master bedroom. These 2 walls transformed the condo and have given me a home I love to show off. The second job was simply giving my kitchen island a facelift which has again given me pride to show off our condo. I would recommend Josh/Fixation to anyone and have plans for future projects with him."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a house without blueprints is not advised. It will prevent you from obtaining necessary building permits and meeting building codes and is likely to result in shoddy construction and unsafe living conditions. Detailed blueprints ensure that a house is built to exact specifications and is constructed safely and structurally stable.

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.

There are energy-efficient options when building a cottage. Select green building materials, high-performance insulation, and energy-efficient windows when designing your cottage. Options such as solar panels, efficient HVAC systems, and LED lighting can lower your utility bills and reduce your environmental impact. Many builders offer energy-efficient upgrades as part of the design process.

It usually takes around four to six months to build and install a modular home, although your timeline could go up to around eight months if there are delays in the manufacturing or permitting process. Heavy site preparation and foundation pouring can extend that timeline if you need them, as can customizations you want for your modular home. Your modular home company should be able to provide an estimate for the construction timeline before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.
