Small jobs welcome

"We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work done in our backyard. Jeremy and his team were professional and paid attention to every detail that we asked for. They left the work area clean. All trash and excess materials were hauled away. The quality of the materials they provided is excellent and the offer suggestions that made our project look even much better than we imagined. We highly recommend GPM, for your Paver work needs."

"We had a great experience with CRC's team from beginning to end. They paid attention to detail throughout the project while keeping us in the loop every step of the way. We now come home to a beautiful driveway and couldn't be happier with their work. If you're searching for a concrete company for your home improvements, search no more. Give Commercial Residential Concrete a call."

"THEY BUILT A STONE PATIO FOR ME. THEY CAME ON TIME AND WORKED CONSTANTLY TO FINISH ON TIME. THE PATIO IS BEAUTIFUL. THEY CLEANED UP WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THAT THEY LEFT THEIR LEFTOVER STONE AND PATIO SAND IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE PICKING IT UP. THE DIRT FROM THAT RUINED THE LOOK OF MY RECENTLY PRESSURE WASHED DRIVEWAY."

"I’ve seen their work around my neighborhood and once the hurricanes took my old wooden fence, I knew I wanted Dave’s to install my new one. It looks amazing and I’m so sorry my neighbors called the cops on you…they’re a delight"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

An asphalt overlay or top coat costs between $3 and $7 per square foot. For a standard, single-car driveway that’s 10 feet wide and 20 feet long, that’s a total of between $600 and $1,400. For a two-car driveway, you’re looking at a total of between $1,200 and $3,000.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

Several materials are suitable for steep driveways. Gravel and crushed stone are affordable options that provide good traction. Permeable pavers—such as plastic, rubber, or concrete—filled with gravel or crushed stones are also excellent, as they allow water to drain without causing erosion and perform well in ice and snow. Another option is resin, which can be coated with an anti-slip finish and helps prevent puddles. For added stability, you can install a retaining wall to prevent pavers and gravel from shifting over time.
