"I hired New Way Pavers to extend my driveway roughly 300 square feet. There were no pushy sales tactics involved and the quote was fair. They showed up on time with everything they needed and the project began and ended without an issue. During the job I did request a slight adjustment to the angle of the driveway and they were happy to address my concern. I will definitely hire them again and I've also recommended them to my neighbors. Isiah..."

"Sunnys Concrete is an outstanding company & I was lucky to locate them. I had been searching for two years for someone experienced in stamped concrete with no success. I saw different reviews on Facebook & wrote in a comment about locating someone who could help me & a happy customer referred me to Kenny Spivey whom I immediately called. He came out the next day & gave me an estimate for repairing & resealing my stamped concrete walkway, driveway & patio & scheduled the job. My job required special skills as it involved repair work done from a previous contractors work. Kennys workers were meticulous, through & very detail orientated & took their time working continuously without even a break. When the job was completed Kenny himself came out to inspect their work & ask my opinion as well. I told him how happy I was to have found him & was delighted with the work that was done. I would highly recommend Sunnys Concrete to anyone needing a professional job done on a variety of concrete & related projects knowing they will get quality work in a timely manner. Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Recycled asphalt is a durable choice for a driveway, but doesn’t have the same appearance and low maintenance as standard asphalt. For long driveways in rural communities, recycled asphalt can make a great choice. Recycled asphalt is 20% to 30% percent less expensive than standard asphalt and is better for the environment.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely. A new driveway, with proper care, can last decades while patching or resurfacing might only hold up for a few years before needing more attention.
