"Carlos and his assistant did a wonderful job sanding, polishing and sealing our quartzite and marble. The quartzite on our kitchen counters and backslash. After 10 years of use it had become dull and needed repolishing and resealed. It turned out beautiful. The marble was in our master bath on the counters, flooring and shower walls, walls, and half wall going around the free standing tub. A really large project. They worked for hours!! We had a glitch in the outcome but Carlos, being the perfectionist he is immediately returned and made it perfect. The work was great, the customer service great, professionalism great and the cost was well within reason. We highly recommend this company."

"Remedy Surface Care renewed our faith in great customer service, incredible workmanship, and a finished product that we are so happy about! They restored our kitchen marble as well as the marble counters in our bathrooms. We inherited marble that was never taken care off, cleaned, or sealed properly. The house was only five years old when we moved. Both Kim and Joe were fantastic to work with throughout the whole process. We highly recommend them and will continue to use them to maintain our now beautiful marble."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Baking soda can damage some countertops, but it makes an excellent mild abrasive for removing stains on other countertops. For example, never use baking soda on quartz or glass countertops, but you can use it on laminate and tile. Stay away from using it on quartz because it can scratch and damage the counter, and glass is prone to scratches. Since baking soda is a mild abrasive, you can only use it on certain surfaces.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

While quartz is highly stain-resistant, it is not completely stain-proof. Spills, including water, should be wiped up as soon as possible to prevent staining. Minor stains are usually not permanent and can be removed using a quartz-safe cleaner, a simple mixture of dish soap and water, or a baking soda paste applied with a soft microfiber cloth. For severe stains that persist, professional treatment may be necessary, and in rare cases, countertop repair or replacement might be required.

Beyond landscaping, limestone has multiple uses. For example, there are multiple pros and cons to limestone countertops, such as a lower cost compared to other types of stone and heat resistance. Limestone is also a key ingredient in limewash, a type of paint with a chalky texture. Other uses for limestone include siding, retaining walls, and mixed into cement.

Professionals use resin fillers, diamond polishing pads, and sealants to restore the surface.
