"Scott restored my travertine floors and polished my granite countertops. He has been in the stone business for over 30 years and is extremely knowledgeable! This knowledge together with his meticulous attention to the stone enables him, with his assistant Ricky, to handle odd problems as they arise and achieve beautiful results! He was also timely, responsive, and personable. I highly recommend him!"

Small jobs welcome

"Remedy Surface Care was wonderful to work with. Kim was pleasant but professional on the phone, and Joe did excellent work restoring our limestone counter to the original luster. He explained the process and cleaned everything up before leaving. I will definitely have them back when my countertops need resealing."

"I was looking for a flooring contractor that has extensive experience. After all, we will be walking on the floor for many years, daily, in our house. I found out that LG Floor Design, Corp. is listed as one of the installers on the CTEF website. There are only a handful of CTEF installers in Orlando. I called a few contractors and out of all of them, Andres had been the most helpful, friendly, informative, and responsive. We did read through the reviews on Homeadvisor.com, all positive reviews, and although there is one review that seems to be not from a real client, the way he responded back in this one was very respectful and professional. The photos of their projects are all very clean cut and well-done. For all these reasons, we decided to call him. He answered all my questions on the phone, and the day my husband met with Andres to do the measurement, he came back and said, this tile contractor knows exactly what he is doing (yes, we met some who do not seem to know what they are doing). Although I was not there at our first meeting, my husband said that Andres brought all the tools to measure and took the time to explain everything to him. I am sure all these certified installers whom we met can get the job done but Andres stood out from all of them. He was upfront about costs, estimated time, and sent us the quote right away. During this whole entire process, we have learned that if he promises to do something, he does it. When something goes wrong, he fixes it promptly. He truly cares about his clients! He weighted in our grout choices, picking tiles, picking the design for the baseboard, and so on. We can tell that he is good at what he does and has a natural eye for design so we trust his judgment 100%. On the last day of completion, we were just absolutely speechless. Not only did the tiles look absolutely beautiful but also the clean up after the job was just out of this world. If you are looking for a tile contractor and a team that is punctual, responsive, fast, professional, and knowledgeable. This is the company that you will remember for the rest of your life, even though we do not know Andres personally, one thing we do know that this kind of professionalism and craftsmanship we do not come across often, who follow through his words with action. We are forever grateful knowing that every day that we look at and walk on our floor, we are happy. Without a doubt, we will use Andres and his team again for future projects. Andres is all around a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Andres, for giving us peace of mind! Highly recommend LG Floor Design, top-notch service! You will not regret it!"

"Antonio and I reached an agreement to paint the entire exterior of my primary home. He began work on scheduled date and completed job on time with very good results. The small items we missed after having completed the job and having paid in full were quickly addressed by Antonio to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend his service as he made my wife extremely happy and she is hard to please. THANK YOU ANTONIO and Sebastian."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You should always seal cut countertops to prevent damage and to keep them looking their best. The right way to seal countertops depends on the type of material. For laminate and wood, apply epoxy or other specialty sealers by pouring it onto the countertop and letting it flow across the whole surface to the edges, guiding it with a paint stick or putty knife. You will need to move quickly so that it does not dry or harden before you are done. For stone countertops, use a sealant specially manufactured for your type of stone and apply it according to manufacturer directions.

Engineered stone is known for its durability, lasting 15 to 20 years or longer. Of course, this range assumes high-quality materials and regular maintenance. After a couple of decades, the stone will start showing its age. Watch for discoloration, fading, stains, and burns, but it’s unlikely that engineered stone will experience structural failure.

Rock salt and ice melts contain sodium chloride, aka salt, and are corrosive to metal and concrete. If used frequently over time, it can cause corrosion, discoloration, chipping, and cracking to patios, walkways, and driveways. You can try a rock salt alternative or hire a professional snow removal company instead.

To remove cloudiness from marble, use equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply it to the surface, allow it to sit for at least two hours, then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Another option is adding a couple of dish soap drops to warm water and wiping the surface after you’ve applied it to the surface. You may also consider using a liquid stone cleaner.

In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.
