"Gary was the nicest service man and he explained the whole system to me and it was such high quality, it was just what I was looking for. My old vac was over 40 yrs old and finally gave out. Gary came the same day and installed the central vac in the garage. Very quick, he was so professional and left everything cleaned up. I would highly recommend him . He is reliable."

"Don was an absolute pro. We had a clogged line and he even tried to come by on his way out for the evening to see if he could clear it without his equipment. That is what I call dedication to the job! I would highly recommend Don to all my friends that require central vacuum service!"

"Space Coast Protection, Inc is a very professional company. They had a very quick response and diagnosed and fixed the problem with my alarm. The technician then checked each door and window to make sure all connections were working. After completing the repair and check of the system, doors, and windows, he reviewed the operation of the system. I will definitely use Space Coast protection in the future and recommend to others."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.

Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.

The best way to clean central vacuum pipes is to use a maintenance sheet to dislodge clogs and wipe the inside of the pipes clean. Alternatively, a professional can clean your central vacuum pipes for you.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.
